Artist: PanicIsland
EP release: ‘Cabin Fever’
Label: Flat 4 Records
Mixing heartfelt angst with anger and frustration they have created a debut produced by Paul Tipler (Idlewild, The Horrors, Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster) that is deep in spirit, with an uplifting anthemic attitude that brings hope into the darker moments. Comparatively the sound is harder to pin down, some might consider them a Rock version of 'Hurts', but you wouldn’t be too far off to think this is a fresh take on alt rock that might just bridge the gap between The Killers and QOTSA.
Panic Island is set around powerful North London songwriting duo Arron Sans and Vinnie Shimia who met in Spain in 2012 during a show performed by ‘The Cult’ and instantly realized they shared the same passion for hi-energy performance, catchy songs and guitar hooks. Both set out to create a new rock band inspired by guitar anthems, contemporary pop songs and the iconic power of the archetypal ‘Rockstar’.
Having grown up with performance on the brain, Arron dabbled in acting and film production before finding music & song writing as his natural expression, he shows off his talents through the bands creative concepts and poetically cryptic lyrics. His performance is one of raw projection, driven by passion and intensity.
Vinnie has been in love with the guitar since he was 13, he moved from Brazil to London to get away from the discipline of a traditional home and to pursue his aspirations in music. Intricate guitar arrangements and textures are crucial to his writing. With a slick live ability Vinnie performs with rock ‘n’ roll attitude and charisma.
“PanicIsland is the place within us all that holds the deepest, darkest, emotions. It is filled with conflict between our dreams and personal demons. We are always running from this place, no one wants to be there, it is the catalyst that keeps us moving and creating. We cannot escape it and if we stand still for too long, it will consume us!” - Arron
Refreshingly honest, surprisingly unpretentious and yet damned right ballsy, welcome to PanicIsland.
‘Cabin Fever’ their Debut EP is due for release 18th May.

Formed in 2006, The Valkarys are an Edinburgh based psychedelic/garage band. Songwriter Scott Dunlop on lead vocals and guitar is joined by Craig Birrell on lead guitar, Colin Brennan on bass and Wayne Hoy on drums. The quartet first came to the attention of UK radio stations with their debut single 'Candy Girl', released in 2006 on Diffusion Records. The single was supported by a two week UK tour that won the band a stong fanbase through their blistering live appearances. After relocating to London, The Valkarys released their debut album 'The Average Can Blind You to The Excellent'. The album won favour from Carl Barat of The Libertines who played tracks at his London club nights. The band were invited by Alan McGee to play the legendary Death Disco at Notting Hill Arts Club and they also made a live appearance at the Babyshambles club night in Camden. '(Just Like) Flying With God' follows the success of two well received EPs 'Chloroform' and 'Psychodelica', extensive UK touts and a coveted support slot with Exit Calm. The Valkarys have recently returned to Edinburgh are set to increase their profile further with this highly anticipated release, their most innovative and cutting edge collection of songs to date. www.facebook.com/thevalkarys www.twitter.com/thevalkarys www.soundcloud.com/thevalkarysofficial www.thevalkarys.bandcamp.com

The Jade Assembly One Last Time 4 May 2015
The saying 'can't see the wood for the trees' could easily be applied to Manchester's music scene... So many bands, so much attitude, so much history. Keen to stand apart from their contemporaries, The Jade Assembly are in this for the long haul and for the right reasons, nothing is fabricated or posed, their attitude comes from an inescapable force of conviction in their music. From the passion of Watson and Danny's rhythm section, to the raw power of Smed's guitar work, each Jade Assembly tune has a clear sense of purpose, nothing is contrived. Central to their main point of difference is John Foster (Foz), a true northern poet and songwriter that places honesty above favour, a frontman who possesses an imposing sense of belief, not devoid of arrogance - but full of commitment. As John puts it "Every word counts. Some people can't see the wood for the trees, but if you don't see The Jade Assembly - you're missing the best bit of the forest..." ''Best Guitar band since Kasabian'' Clint Boom, XFM/Inspiral Carpets ''Flying flags and empowering crowds, with their anthemic rock and roll, The Jade Assembly are he enthusiastic spawn of the Britpop ere'' Emily Schofield, The Mover Music Blog ''The Jade Assembly enter like a hurricane and instantly blow away any audience drawn into their path'' Frank Floyd, Louder Than War ''What sets aside The Jade Assembly from the plethora of indie-rock try hards that litter the music scene of the modern day is that the band are not merely going through the motions of a tired genre but reinventing it, giving it new life and allowing it to rise from its own ashes'' Ian Critchley , Louder Than War ''TJA are one of, if not the most, interesting band swimming in an otherwise tepid sea of indie-rock'' Ian Critchley Louder than war ''The Jade Assembly what you do is amazing'' London Unsigned ''Tonight London without knowing experienced one of the best unsigned bands in circulation today!'' WHO ARE MEN WITH VEN?
Three men and nearly as many chords, on the road from Barking to Deptford.
Telling it the way it is, in pubs and markets, treading the highway and the sticky carpet.
There’s no stopping them: the dogs have seen the rabbit.
The odds are long but they are worth a flutter.
They respect everyone but trust no one except their tailor.
They dodge all the blue lights and put you bang to rights.
They are Men With Ven.
WHAT IS VEN?
Not just the plural of van, but a mystical substance infusing a unique worldview…
A bit like Zen, only faster and funnier.
WHAT DO THEY SOUND LIKE?
They sound like Chas’n’Dave having sex with Kraftwerk.

Taking influences from the likes of Lana Del Rey, Stevie Nicks & Nirvana, Colette Olive aka Flower Fellow writes simplistically with guitar, banjo or ukulele but uniquely gives her songs a high production for a full distinct indie/folk vibe.
In May 2015, Flower Fellow will release her sophomore single The Rabbit in the lead up to what will be a massive year for the young artist.
