Vivid Vague Biog:
Winter 2014 brought us Vivid Vague, a new 4 piece band from East Devon. Fronted by the voice of Michelle Dilling, Guitars from Nathan Gregory, Adam Nickels on Bass and Simon Hodgkiss on Drums. Drawing influences from The XX, Daughter, London Grammar & Amy Winehouse to name a few.

Their first home demo was snapped up by local radio stations within weeks of them recording it, spurring the band into the recording studio to work on their debut album for release later in 2015. With a growing fan base and a trail of festivals awaiting them this Summer, be sure not to miss out on seeing these guys live soon.

Sonia Leigh

"When We Are Alone"

New Single Release

Sonia Leigh relocated to Nashville in 2012 from her long-time home of Atlanta, Georgia and quickly won over the hearts of audiences and industry alike with her gritty vocal delivery and bold, honest approach to song writing.

She found success in Music City with the release of her album 1978 December.  This album produced two US Billboard Country Hits Bar and My Name Is Money.

Last Summer her single release, "Put It In Your Pocket" debuted as a Highway Find on Sirius XM's The Highway and climbed to the top 20s on their Hot 45 Countdown.  Sonia Leigh also went top ten in the United Kingdom on the Hotdisc European Top 40.

She has performed extensively worldwide as both a headliner and support act for well-known names as Eric Church, Eli Young Band, Loretta Lynn and Willie Nelson.

Also an accomplished songwriter, she co-wrote the Zac Brown Band's hit recordings "Goodbye In Her Eyes" and "Sweet Annie"

The new single "When We Are Alone" will be released on Monday 23rd February 2015.

Coco Esq

I've attached a link to our track 'Be a Honey' and we'd all really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to have a listen and maybe even let us know what you thought!

THEYA

‘All Things Get Easier’

Impact Date: 26.01.2015

HORSE PARTY

“Atmospheric guitars and tumbling rhythms explode into magnificent, angry colours… somewhere between the post-rock soundscapes of Thought Forms and the harmonious melodies of Yuck.” God Is In The TV

“Like Stevie Nicks singing with PJ Harvey… Ellie Langley’s vocals drip with attitude and menace”  Gigslutz

“One of the most exciting new bands around” – Songwriting Magazine

“A sweet/sour mix of prescient, razor wit and winning tunefulness… Highly recommended.”

The Digital Fix

Horse Party are singing guitarists Ellie Langley and Seymour Quigley, and drummer Shannon Hope.  Having crossed paths at Seymour’s Washing Machine club nights in their hometown of Bury St Edmunds, the trio bonded over a shared desire to spend the rest of their lives making the kind of records they’d want to listen to.  A string of self-released singles caught the attention of UK indie Integrity Records, who released their debut LP ‘Cover Your Eyes’ in May 2014 to critical acclaim and airplay from 6music’s Lauren Laverne and Steve Lamacq, Shell Zenner at Absolute Radio and XFM’s John Kennedy.

In July 2014 they played Latitude Festival’s Lake Stage at the invitation of Radio One’s Huw Stephens and BBC Suffolk Introducing. Horse Party’s new single, ‘Out Of Sight/Receiver’, will be released Monday 23rd February 2015 on limited edition 7” black vinyl as a co-release by R*E*P*E*A*T Records and the band’s own Pure Deadly imprint.

SYMMETRY

Relentless!

It’s the word that best describes Symmetry, an alternative pop rock band based out of Los Angeles.

“Genre bending sound that is simultaneously fresh & powerful, yet absolutely radio-friendly” Jay Rawley – Louder Than War

This innovative band consists of Michael Campbell (vocals), Jared Hara (guitar), Will Weiner (bass) and Max D’Anda (drums). Symmetry formed in early 2013. Later that year, they released their debut full-length album, Frozen In Time, produced by James Paul Wisner (Dashboard Confessional, Paramore, Underoath).

Guitarisrt Jared lost his eyesight at 12 before ever picking up his first guitar, but now is living proof that tragedy can reveal hidden potential.

(“Sometimes in darkness, we find ourselves” says Jared).

Their debut album was widely supported in the US. A breathtaking debut was comleted when they were awarded the ‘Best rock Song’ award by Hollywood Music in Media.

Symmetry gained worldwide fans on tour with Room 94 in the U.K. on the Live Nation No Strings Attached Tour last year and will be heading back to the UKIreland and Polandas the main support act for Room 94 on the Live Nation promoted Dirty Dancing Tour. You can see them on the following dates –

UNDERCOVER HIPPY

Billy Rowan, a.k.a. The Undercover Hippy, releases his new single Boyfriend. A single guaranteed to wake you out of a winter slumber and put a wry smile on your face for the Spring.

The Undercover Hippy is definitely not your average singer songwriter. His music brings together acoustic guitar, soulful vocals, infectious reggae rhythms, and the lyrical delivery of a skilled mc. After 7 years spent DJ'ing and MC'ing on the Drum & Bass circuit, Billy swapped the decks for a guitar and started out as a solo act. He now plays with a full 5 piece band, mixing guitar, keys, drums, bass, congas and backing vocals to create a high energy, interactive and highly entertaining live show. Combining intelligent, amusing, and often politically charged lyrics with dangerously catchy hooks and a feel good groove, this is music for the thinking man to shake his arse to. Think Jason Mraz meets The Cat Empire...on a protest march...at the Edinburgh Fringe.

His amazing vocal delivery captured live promoters attention, resulting in Billy and his band performing at some of the UK’s best festivals, including Glastonbury, The Big Chill, Green Man, The Secret Garden Party, Sunrise Celebration, Ireland’s Electric Picnic, and many more. 2014 was an epic year for the band, with a jam packed summer of festival appearances and shows across the UK and Europe culminating with the much anticipated release of the album “Monkey Suit”. Highlights included playing to a packed Chai Wallah’s stage at Shambala Festival, playing the Mainstage before Ben Howard and Bombay Bicycle club at Jersey Live, creating the most frenzied dancefloor yet in The Bimble Inn at Glastonbury Festival, and touring across Europe playing festivals in GermanySwitzerland and Italy.

The new album “Monkey Suit”, was released on Sept 1st with a sold out launch party at The Attic in Bristol. The album fuses multiple genres, from reggae to hip-hop, folk to pop, but all held together by Billy’s signature style of vocal delivery and lyrical content. BBC Introducing DJ Andrew Marston described the track Boyfriend as “about as real as music gets”, putting it in his top ten tracks of the year, and Due South West’s review of the album called it “ten tracks of exellence… nothing short of a triumph!”. With over 300,000 Youtube views and over 5k Facebook fans, The Undercover Hippy’s following just keeps growing, and with 2 tours and numerous festivals booked for 2015 already, it looks set to be another busy year for Billy and the band.

THE PERMANENT SMILERS

The Permanent Smilers release their new single Identity Crisis in March.

It’s a pre cursor to the new album One Real Big Identity Crisis, thirteen brand new songs which have been in production for two years. An album doffing it’s cap to many musical genres, but with that familiar Permanent Smilers tunefulness and unpredictability threading through.

Recorded at The Mill studios in Norfolk, produced with Jonny Cole, and mixed by David Pye.

Frontman Richard was the songwriter behind The Lemongrowers, who released two albums on the Norwich based Noisebox label.

The bands influences include The Stranglers, The Doors and such like, but also the other end of the musical spectrum with Abba!

Catchy melodies are the order of the day for The Permanent Smilers. Whether you like it or not, these things once they are in your system, stay with you.

Not a band to use technology for the sake of it, The Permanent Smilers used to use a smoke machine during gigs. Of course, this needed testing out regularly at rehearsals and on one occasion led to The Waterfront venue in Norwich being evacuated when the smoke alarms were activated. The fire brigade almost saw the funny side of it. Less so The Waterfront administration, with a gig in full swing in the main auditorium which was, of course, evacuated…doh!

Little Lapin
Remember The Highs
9 February 2015
UK singer-songwriter Little Lapin has been making her mark on audiences all over the world, from New Zealand where she was based for five years, to New York where she recently performed the last leg of her acoustic tour.

Waiting Room, taken from Little Lapins 2013 debut eponymous EP, was featured on BBC Radio 6 Music's Introducing Mixtape Show with Tom Robinson, and her sound was described by Tom's team of music bloggers at Fresh on the Net as a A Pretenders for the 21st Century.  Her highly anticipated follow-up album due to be released next year promises to deliver more of her infectious indie pop gems.

Celebrated New Zealand producer, and ex member of Goldenhorse, Ben King guests on all of Little Lapins forthcoming tracks including Remember The Highs. In addition to performing, he also arranged the electric guitar and synth parts.

We bumped into Little Lapins lovely Waiting Room on a recent Fresh Faves & I was instantly taken by this stadium filling indie song with its gorgeous vocals, buzzing strings & larger than life melodic disposition, the echoes of The Pretenders were just too much for a boy to handle when it landed in our dropbox.
Fresh on the Net - John Casson, Sept 2013

"Little Lapin has a voice that sits nicely between Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Prentenders Crissy Hynde.  Listen if you like:  Slow Club, French For Rabbits, Beach House or Summer Camp."
Notes For a Road Sign Blog

The musical variety is what really sets Lapin apart from her peers. There's a willingness to apply herself to different genres here, and she rarely sounds uncomfortable during any of her performance. Like I said, the girls confident, and I have no doubt this won't be the last we've heard of Little Lapin.
The Equal Ground, July 2013

Little Lapins compositions are an intriguing game of hide and seek, with elements often surprising each other from around unexpected corners. Her voice hops smoothly from note to note while melodies flow cleanly underfoot, infused with a gentle retro-pop. Catchy hooks draw us into a world of 'Silent Tears' and 'Friendship on Fire', her talent for emotive storytelling irresistible in its universality.
Breakthru Radio, New York, July 2013

SeaWitches
Stars
The Label Recordings
16 February 2015
Based in Liverpool, Jo Herring and Laura Caldwell met in 2007 through friends; a meeting that resulted in an explosion of creativity where songwriting, musicianship and visual art collided to create SeaWitches.

The band gig regularly in Liverpool, where they've played Sound City, Music Week and the Green Party Conference as well as hosting their own nights supporting other well known bands like Eagulls and Giant Drag.

2012 saw Tilo Pirnbaum joining the band on drums, and SeaWitches entered the studio to record their first EP 'Spacegun', which received positive reviews and helped secure a loyal and diverse fanbase. They also began to play outside  Liverpool, securing gigs in Manchester and London.

Jamie Jenkin was recruited on guitar in 2014 and, seven years in the making, the line up is complete and the band are ready to take their music to a wider audience.  Prolific songwriters, they work collaboratively with each member bringing a diverse set of influences.

Hailed as one of the most exciting bands to emerge from Liverpool's music scene is recent years, SeaWitches are the latest signing for Edge Hill University's The Label Recordings run by Carl Hunter of The Farm and assisted by media students.  An experiment that has led to huge success for previous signing Hooton Tennis Club, who are now with Heavenly Recordings.
