Nina Baker - 'Bruising' Out June 2nd 2014
'Bruising' is the second single release by Nina Baker from her self-produced
debut album 'Quite Frankly'.
The young classically trained pianist-singer-songwriter from Leamington Spa
has had a great start to 2014.
Her debut track 'Single Bed' was released in January and played on BBC Radio 2 and supported by Tom Robinson at BBC 6 Music. She has also supported Ella Eyre, Henrik Freischlader & Mick Flannery on their UK & European Tours.
But whereas her debut single was a tongue-in-cheek retort to past relationships,
'Bruising' opens up another avenue into the persona of Nina Baker. A darker,
more vulnerable and far more hurting side than her calm & elegant exterior
would ever imply.
The foundation of 'Bruising' is the tale of a long term relationship breaking up,
well before the end. Lines such as "One more chance you keep saying, one
more chance as if I can take it" & "Your lies bruising me" describe the anguish
of an innocent party in a deceitful & failing partnership.
From the military, machine-gun like drums, you are thrown into a war zone
from the outset. There are tender moments, but these are soon ended with
sudden stops, screaming frustration & a need of salvation - All of which build
to a mighty crescendo.
This is a more powerful & edgier Nina Baker, synonymous with her live show. She and her band are playing a lot of gigs all over the country right now.
Her piano riffs hammer hard like tubular bells of confusion, the bass-lines
pound like a heart-beat full of adrenaline and her anguish-soaked vocals
whisper & shout in torment.
‘Bruising' is released on June 2nd and the album ‘Quite Frankly’ hits the shelves
later this year in August.
Nina was runner-up last year of MTV’s Brand New competition this year, which sought out the creme de la creme of new music across the nation.
Joined by top producers such as Nick Brine, Tristan Ivemy & John Themis at Rockfield Studios, The Church & Abbey Road - the last 18 months has been devoted to making her masterpiece album which she wrote, arranged & co-produced.
Nina draws her influence from the likes of Amy Winehouse, Nina Simone and Kate Bush, and writes a fusion of genres - from typical pop, to folk and rock - while also brushing on jazz, country and skiffle.

Johnny Cooper who is based in Texas, USA.

Johnny Cooper now returns with his new single Thank You which was written for his friends and family who have supported him over the years.
Quoted as being Texas music served on a bed of Red Dirt and being a force of nature, Johnny Cooper has been winning plaudits all across the US as a result of his heavy gig schedule which averages 200 shows each year.  This also helped contribute to his debut album Ignition selling over 25,000 copies and seeing four of his tracks climbing the Texas Music Charts.
With a large number of recordings under his belt, two tracks included on the soundtrack for independent movie Deep In The Heart, and recent sponsorship by a well known drinks firm, Johnny Cooper has already accomplished more in his career than many musicians can only dream about, and with radio stations already picking up on his new single, it is likely you will be hearing even more from him over the coming months.

Slydigs - "Stiff Upper Lip" - released May 26th 2014.
2014 sees the band release their next EP ‘Down With The Mockery’ Produced by George Shilling (Primal Scream, Ocean Colour Scene, Slade) - Stiff Upper Lip is the first single to be released from it.
The EP will be followed by a full UK tour, European tour and also a number of Festival dates.
2013 saw the rise of Slydigs, the Rock & Roll four piece originating from Warrington, in the North West of England.
The release of their debut album ‘Never To Be Tamed’ was met with rave reviews from the press and public alike with Vive Le Rock Magazine giving the album a hearty 9/10, The Big Cheese 4/5 and the NME placing ‘Electric Love’ as one of the ‘5 tracks you must listen to this week’.
Singles like ‘Bang, Bang & My Bullet Was Gone’ have had airplay on a number of Radio Stations around the country, most noticeably Dave Monks’ (BBC Merseyside) BBC Introducing sessions.
Dave invited the band along to play a number of songs in the Live Lounge, again met with a raucous response from the public.
On the live circuit the band’s most noticeable gig of the year was headlining the prestigious Warrington Music Festival, where they met current manager Tommy Kennedy.
Having had a ‘doffing’ of the cap from the likes of Mick Jones of The Clash and Mr. Paul Weller himself, Slydigs are looking to immerse themselves in the history books in 2014.
The head of their label, Flicknife Records’ Frenchy Gloder, declared that they are “the most exciting band we have signed in 20 years”, and with that in mind the future is set to be engulfed by this monstrous band, equipped with the charisma of the Stones and the music that has so long been missed in an ever changing industry.
The band formed in 2008 with lead singer Dean Fairhurst and lead guitarist Louis Menguy through their mutual obsession of the likes of Dylan, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and pretty much any blues or R&B records that they could get their hands on.
They were shortly joined by high school friends Peter Fleming on the drums and bass player Ben Breslin.
Together the band honed their skills touring the UK & Ireland and have even collaborated with Tricky (formerly of Massive Attack) on a yet to be released track.
Their music has been featured on the likes of Channel Four program, Fresh Meat, Sony Production’s talent show in Brazil, NME TV and also the music channel Lava.
Football team Manchester United play their songs at Old Trafford on match days throughout the season and radio station ‘talkSPORT’ play ‘Electric Love’ regularly as the intro to one of their features.
The band are renowned for their ability to encapsulate Rock & Roll in its many forms. Their connection with an audience is something that can only been witnessed through the eyes of a crowd member.
The live scene has allowed them to express their overwhelming desire to entertain and excite audiences all over the globe. To coincide with the release of this year’s EP, Down With The Mockery, Wasp Video are currently filming a short Documentary on the band that tells the tale of their journey so far and the creation of the said EP.
The documentary is also being narrated by author Howard Marks.
Look out for a Slydigs gig near you and we’ll see you down the front!

FERRECK DAWN & REDONDO - “LOVE TOO DEEP”
With summer just around the corner, it’s time to unleash “Love Too Deep” a perfectly balanced fusion of melodic and bass-driven house from hot Dutch producers Ferreck Dawn and Redondo.
This is 90s influenced deep house at its best - a classic Korg M1 bassline pulses through the entire track and is topped off with a punchy looped vocal hook.
The track has already been picked up by Steve Angello who played on his Radio 1 Residency slot.

The Cheek Of Her who is based in London, England

Despite giving the impression it is a band, The Cheek Of Her is actually a solo project by singer songwriter Helen Dooley who now returns with her new single Guitar Muse taken from her new album Adult Angst Anonymous.
Described as being fun, enjoyment, expression and good catchy Pop Rock tunes, The Cheek Of Her has been creating a huge buzz on the London music scene through relentless gigs and headlining nights there.  The release of her debut EP in 2011 resulted in her having comparisons made to many quirky female artists such as Patti Smith, Gwen Stefani and Wallis Bird as well as modern day Cranberries which may be down to Helen Dooley’s Irish roots.
Since then her popularity has increased further enabling her to record her new album through a crowd funding project which has already resulted in the first single from the album; Write Me A Letter receiving national radio play as well as a large number of other radio stations playing the track.
Details on how you can purchase Guitar Muse and The Cheek Of Her’s new album can be found on her website www.thecheekofher.com or you can follow her on Facebook at www.facebook.com/thecheekofher

The Sunshine Underground - 'Finally We Arrive' IMPACT: Monday 9th June.
The Sunshine Underground follow the announcement of their eponymous new album (OUT: 19/05/14) with the explosive new single 'Finally We Arrive’. Produced by Ross Orton (MIA, Arctic Monkeys), The Sunshine Underground, is a reinvention of sorts, a refocusing on their first love - electronic music. 'Finally We Arrive' is the moment it all came together in the studio for TSU, “this track became a benchmark for how the rest of the album was going to sound” says frontman Craig Wellington, “a real breakthrough in what we were trying to achieve with this record”. The overall result is an album nobody would have expected. A clean slate and self-titled purposefully to hit home this feeling of identity, the hard beats and glittering synths mix with The Sunshine Underground's original dance-punk origins to create an almighty collection of contemporary electronic

The Fireflys - Release Repeat. Released on May 26th 2014
Biography:
The Fireflys are a 5-piece independent rock band that formed in Runcorn, Northwest England in 2007.
The Band's current line up comprises of:
Lee Wylding (Lead Vocal/Guitar)
Stephen Roberts (Bass/Backing Vocal)

Andie Packer (Drums)
David Packer (Rhythm Guitar/Backing Vocal)
Chris Tann (keyboards)
Based on the songwriting of Lee Wylding, the band are sonically indebted to the British Invasion, crafting ringing melodic 4-minute guitar driven songs, featuring melodic harmonies and constantly changing genre sensibilities.
Driven by the DIY approach of punk, although not a punk band, the manifesto of independence and loyalty looms very large in the execution of the bands music and ethos.
The band, whose influences include The Smiths, REM and Pearl Jam, are advocates for Animal Rights Activism (PETA) and Vegetarianism.
The Fireflys early years comprised of recording two self released demos (Better To Burn Out volume 1 in 2007 and The Warning Bell 2008) and in 2009 "Better To Burn Out" (volume 2) was given a full release on the band's own Record Label, Canadia Records.
Shortly after the albums release, "Better To Burn Out" reached #27 in the Amazon Download Chart, garnering the album a minor success.
The band headed back into the studio to record the Sophomore album "Cathedral For Your Ashes" in 2011, also released through Canadia Records in February 2012.
In June 2012 'Cathedral For Your Ashes' made its way up the Amazon Download Chart and settled at #22, beating its predecessor ('Better To Burn Out'). 'Cathedral' spent 10 weeks in the Radio Caroline Top 40 Album Chart, reaching #17.
The band entered the studio in March 2012 to start work on their 3rd Album 'Embers of the Autumn'. The Fireflys toured throughout 2012 supporting the likes of Steve Cradock (Ocean Colour Scene/Paul Weller) and Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets), the band were also invited to play Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Bird Official After Show Party at the O2 Liverpool.
Embers Of The Autumn was released 5th August 2013 entering the iTunes Chart at #8 upon hours of its release, and entered the Radio Caroline Chart at Number 35 and is currently at #17.
The single Hummingbird was played on BBC introducing by Dave Monks prior to the release of the LP. The album has received universal critical acclaim from prestigious online blogs such as Louder Than War, Nanobot Rock, Nothing but Hope and Passion and Liverpool Sound and Vision Magazine, and has fast become a fan favourite upon the bands dedicated fan base.
On the 8th of December last year the band were invited to the Salford Lads Club by Whythenshawe FM to play a live set and be interviewed in The Smiths room of the building, the bands picture documenting the set is also on display in the room.
Ahead of the bands O2 Academy Liverpool show on the 13th of December (their biggest headline to date) they were interviewed by the Liverpool Echo’s Jade Wright and featured in a double page spread, and the morning after they joined Billy Butler and played a live set in the BBC Merseyside studio.
The bands new single “Release/Repeat” from the upcoming forth album is due for release on the 10th of may through Canadia Records, and all proceeds will be donated to the breast cancer awareness campaign, inspired by the “no-make up selfie” movement, the band wanted to contribute, and felt this way is the most appropriate.

'I Don't Need An Answer' Impact date: Monday 9th June 2014.
Jack Robert Hardman - 'The Great Unknown' EP is released on Monday 19th May 2014 via Pleasant Pursuits / Cooking Vinyl.
Jack Robert Hardman returns with The Great Unknown, a 4-track EP filled with hazy acoustic folk melodies, quirky percussion and Jack’s yearning vocals. The EP recalls artists such as Beach Boys, Grizzly Bear and David Kitt in its presentation of songs intricately layered yet beautifully simplistic, with a heartfelt sensitivity running through ever song structure and delivery. It is apt from the EP’s gentle beauty that it was mastered by Alan Douches (Sufjan Stevens and Midlake), recorded in part at the legendary Konk Studios and mixed by Adrian Breakspear (Exit Calm).
Jack has previously self-released a debut album (2012) and the subsequent singles Famous (2012) and Plymouth (2013) which collectively picked up some impressive word-of-mouth accolades. Simon Raymonde of Bella Union sited Jack as a ‘Breaking Act for 2013’ in his Sunday Times Culture piece, while making Plymouth a ‘Track of the Week’ on his Amazing Radio show, followed by three consecutive weeks of airplay. Other strong radio support for both singles came from fellow Amazing Radio DJs Shell Zenner, Jim Gellanty and Bethan Elfyn, as well as Jen Long and Huw Stephens at Radio 1 and Tom Robinson at 6Music. While John Kennedy at XFM invited Jack to perform a live session. Famous was a 405 ‘Track of the Day’, while the release of Plymouth proved a big hit, receiving posts and praise from blogs as far reaching as the US, New Zealand and Italy.
The Great Unknown EP will be released on CD and Digitally via Pleasant Pursuits / Cooking Vinyl Publishing on 19th May. The EP’s lead track I Don’t Need An Answer will be simultaneously released as a Digital Single on the same day. Additionally, EP track Loose Connection is offered as a Free Download on all EP pre-orders via www.jackroberthardman.co.uk/store.

BEARTOOTH TO RELEASE DEBUT FULL LENGTH ALBUM
DISGUSTING OUT JUNE 9, 2014 ON RED BULL RECORDS
VIDEO FOR “BEATEN IN LIPS” PREMIERES TODAY
Columbus, OH hardcore outfit Beartooth are set to release their highly anticipated debut full length album Disgusting on June 9, 2014 via Red Bull Records. A new song, “Beaten in Lips,” premiered last night on Daniel P. Carter’s BBC Radio 1 show in the UK, and the video for the track premiered today. Watch it here: www.beartoothband.com . The full Disgusting track list is below, and you can take a peek at the album cover here.
Written, performed, produced and mixed by 21 year-old Caleb Shomo, Disgusting shares equal inspiration with brutal metalcore as with old-school punk like The Ramones and the bombastic theatricality of Queen. The end result is a back-to-basics hardcore stomp interspersed with huge anthemic choruses that prompted Alternative Press, Rock Sound, Kerrang! Metal Hammer and Big Cheese all to name Beartooth one of their ‘Bands You Need to Know in 2014' features.
Disgusting is available for pre-order via iTunes here. Fans who pre-order digitally will receive “Beaten In Lips” instantly, and four special pre-sale bundles are available with purchase of a physical CD. Order and get more info at http://smarturl.it/DisgustingCD
Beartooth began as a way for Caleb to blow off steam after leaving his role as front man for AttackAttack!. Caleb and his hometown friends started jamming; hanging out in his basement studio and playing music for fun. They released an EP, Sick, and then hit the road, touring North America with genre titans August Burns Red, Memphis May Fire and others. In between support slots, the five-piece headlined everywhere from basements to club shows, building a strong and devoted following. The EP’s accompanying music videos quickly accumulated over one million views and set the stage for Disgusting.
Fresh from a UK & European tour with Of Mice & Men, Beartooth will be heading out on the entire length of this year’s Vans Warped Tour, which kicks off June 13th in Houston, TX. Full tour dates are below.

Neil Davidge is a record producer, songwriter, film score composer and musician. Working in close collaboration with Massive Attacks’ Robert Del Naja (3D), he had a key hand in shaping the sound of Massive Attack’s third (1998’s Q Award-winning ‘Mezzanine’), fourth (‘100th Window’) and fifth (‘Heligoland’) studio album.

2012 saw the release of the Halo 4 OST, which Davidge composed, arranged and produced. The critically-acclaimed soundtrack went on to set the official record as the highest-charting video game soundtrack ever, having reached #50 in the Billboard Chart, #10 in the Independent Album Billboard chart and #3 the National Soundtrack Chart.

Davidge recently completed the score to the upcoming movie Good People (James Franco, Kate Hudson, Anna Friel) – out later this year.

Black" is the first release by UK rock band "Dynamite" since signing to the independent record label and music publisher Tabitha Music Limited.

Tabitha Music Limited CEO, Graham Sclater said, "I have not been this excited about a rock band since we signed Adrian Smith's Urchin back in the seventies. Adrian went on to join Iron Maiden and I've always hoped that I could find and sign a band that played out and out uncompromising rock. "Dynamite" is such a band."

Since this track was recorded in Cyprus during the summer of 2013 we have had numerous requests to make it commercially available. It has now been decided to release this track only as a download from Amazon and iTunes on 13 June 2014 in advance of the launch of the band's studio album in July.

On this recording the band's power house rhythm section are complemented by the guitar work of Vic Malcolm and the incredible vocals of Rick Mort.

Vic Malcolm was a member and songwriter of the Newcastle based band rock band Geordie who featured Brian Johnson on lead vocals. Together they picked up five gold discs for their top ten hit single "All because of you" and their first four albums. They appeared on Top of the Pops no less than fifteen times. Brian went on to join AC/DC.

"Black" was written by Vic Malcolm and is already picking up airplay across rock stations around the world.

If you would like a promo copy of the "Dynamite" album please email me and we will send it in advance of release.

Alavano - "Take Away The Pain" - May 19th 2014.
"I read your letter. I got the news. You're feeling better, well I feel abused..." The opening lines of the song.
Glasgow's Alavano release their heart-wrenching ballad on May 19th 2014 (it's on pre order on iTunes now). They've had huge airplay success with previous singles Lion's Gone and Just One Love and they're set to do it again with this beauty!
Their debut album release will follow later in 2014. We think this track is an absolute stunner - but don't take our word for it:
“Sounds phenomenal, they are set to explode. It’s only a matter of time until Alavano receive universal acclaim." The words of the voice of new music in Scotland, Scottish Sun music columnist and In:Demand Uncut DJ Jim Gellatly (now on XFM).
To date the band have been played on over 200 radio stations around the world, including national airplay on Scotland's Clyde One. They also landed a stunning review in The Sun newspaper.
More info:
Formed in 2012, Glasgow’s power-pop outfit Alavano will soon be releasing their new single "Take Away The Pain" Recorded in Glasgow and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, The Killers, Jack White, The Rolling Stones, Beady Eye, Katy Perry)
With a sweeping melody and heart felt lyrics, the record exhibits a masterful correlation from commercial pop and acoustic roots. It's one of those songs that has the ability to hit a nerve. It's a song about heartbreak, and anyone that's ever lost someone will relate to the raw emotion of "Take Away The Pain".
With a meticulous vocal cast in such explosive and impetuous production, it is easy to see why the band have weekend headlined some of Scotland’s greatest venues, including King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, the main stage of The Barrowlands Ballroom and The Classic Grand.
The band have also played to a crowd of more than 7000 at the Glasgow Warrior’s stadium in Scotstoun, Glasgow.
The architect of Alavano’s songwriting anatomy is their charismatic frontman, 24 year old Ocean Adams. With him are Gen "The General" Ferguson, 23 (keyboards), Stephen Brown, 24 (guitar), Tom Glasgow, 21 (bass) and Craig Harkness, 20 (drums).
With all these ingredients Alavano are set to detonate to mainstream success.
They support Thumpers on May 29th at King Tut's in Glasgow.
We hope you like the track. Please let us know if you do.

Introducing ALTREGO - aka Belgian-born/London-based multi instrumentalist/producer Jasper Erkens - who is set to release his first EP via Bonka Circus, 'Miraculous Epiphanies’ is the first single from it. All tracks were mixed by Valgeir Sigurdsson (Sigur Rós, Damon Albarn). After several experimental outings Erkens conceived ALTREGO, an umbrella identity for his remixes, compositions and live performances (augmented onstage by a pair of co-conspirators). Living at the crossroads between dance funk and the dirtiest sounds of the '80’s, filthy beats and basslines collide with effortlessly catchy pop hooks. ALTREGO also regularly works with visual artists, the latest collaboration ending in the superb video for lead track ‘Miraculous Epiphanies’: Highlights of a packed summer calendar include a performance at the legendary Rock Werchter Festival in Belgium, where ALTREGO is the only unsigned act on a bill that includes Metallica, Arctic Monkeys
and Pearl Jam. facebook.com/altrego.music

Roy Turnham who is based in Liverpool, England

Having toured the UK with his previous band, Roy Turnham has since gone alone, the outcome of which is his recently recorded solo material.
With his material already being played a number of times on BBC Radio and his heavy gig schedule, Roy Turnham has achieved more than most artists can dream of.  What makes this even more impressive is that he is combining his music career with representing England in both athletics and football, and was a part of the blind football team which represented Great Britain at the London 2012 Paralympics.  During this time he was filmed serenading in the Olympic Village after the closing ceremony where he was scouted and given a priority audition for BBC’s The Voice.  Unfortunately he had to turn this offer down due to his football commitments at the time.
Further information on Roy Turnham including forthcoming gig dates can be found on his website www.twitter.com/royturnham or www.starnow.com/royturnham

Grime legend Skepta is back with a new single - “That’s Not Me” – featuring the lyrical talents of his brother and long-time Boy Better Know collaborator JME. The track sees the pair spitting stone-cold flows, trading verses and sharing their experiences of the music industry over a haunting instrumental.
Originally teased as a freestyle in a documentary-style short film shot by Uzi, hype around the track has built quickly. A follow up official video features Skepta and JME performing the track over footage from the original film.
Given its first radio play by Rinse FM’s Julie Adenuga on her Drive Time show the single has already been playlisted by Rinse, 1Xtra and CapitalXtra with strong support over at Kiss FM too.
Early champions of the track include Semtex, MistaJam, Trevor Nelson, Toddla T and DJ Cameo - it’s currently Number 1 on DJ Cameo’s UKG Top 5 on 1Xtra.
“That’s Not Me” is a taste of what’s to come from Skepta’s forthcoming album Konichiwa the much anticipated follow up to his critically acclaimed Blacklisted mixtape.

Previously promoted by Deuce in May 2013, Ryker Sear now return with their new single Forever Criminal.

Hugely successful Canadian guitar pop band HEDLEY announce first UK single release building on their multi-platinum status overseas
Hedley have just announced they are to release their debut single, ‘Anything’ in the UK on June 2nd, followed by their album ‘Wild Life’ on June 23rd. The band will also play a show at the legendary 100 Club in London on May 28th.
‘Anything’ is as infectious a pop song as you’ll hear all year, and Hedley continue their winning formula throughout the album with a fistful of potential hits making up the rest of the record. The video for ‘Anything’ is also typically tongue in cheek and pokes fun at the Miley Cyrus/Robin Thicke school of video making with nods to both artists in the clip.
Video: http://mtrpl.is/anythingvideoclean
Since forming in Vancouver in 2005, Hedley (frontman Jacob Hoggard, guitarist Dave Rosin, bassist Tommy Mac, and drummer Chris Crippin) have released four double-platinum albums in their native country. With four consecutive multiplatinum albums behind them - Hedley (2005), Famous Last Words (2007), The Show Must Go (2009), Storms (2011) – and a million albums sold, Hedley continue their path to pop music supremacy with the release of ‘Wild Life’.
The new album is already platinum in their home country of Canada, and ‘Anything’ is the band’s fastest selling single to date there, reaching platinum status in a matter of weeks. Hedley is also one of the Top 50 touring acts worldwide thanks to their huge fanbase.
If there’s any band who exemplifies the ‘sky’s the limit’ ethos, it’s Hedley. Few deliver the message that anything is possible with as much inventive humour as Hedley do on the ‘Anything’ single. ‘Wild Life’, the parent album, finds them incorporating vintage analogue keyboards from the ’80s into dance around, sing-a-long anthems such as ‘Got Love’ and ‘Crazy For You’ and ‘ ‘I’ll Be With You’.
“I think one of our signatures over the years has been that you'll hear our single and think that's what the album is, and it's never been the case,” Hoggard says. “We are very emphatic about not pigeon-holing ourselves. We really love all kinds of music, ranging from pop songs that really push boundaries, to ballads that are intimate and honest.”
Hedley release ‘Anything’ on June 2nd through Metropolis
The album ‘Wild Life’ follows three weeks later on June 23rd

It’s Incognito’s 35th birthday this year. 35 years filled with music soaked in soul, coated in jazz with more than a twist of funk and dance. Always animating the world to dance and to get their groove on. In this 35th anniversary year comes Incognitos 16th studio album “Amplified Soul” – to be released on June 2nd, 2014 on earMUSIC.

Recorded and mixed at the legendary Livingston Studio in North London where The Buena Vista Social Club's eponymous multi-million selling first album was mixed and also Björk's 1993 debut album recorded and mixed, “Amplified Soul” consists of 16 brand new tracks. All of them create a bed of soulful funky irresistible grooves that are punctuated by the trademark Incognito horns. At times on this album the band navigates towards a darker sound than on their previous works, offering the listener a new adventure with wonderfully crafted songs wrapped in warm tones. At other times they just get joyously funky!

“Amplified Soul” features singers Tony Momrelle, Vanessa Haynes and new addition Katie Leone who provide some of the best vocal performances ever recorded by the band. They are joined by legendary singer/songwriter Carleen Anderson and Connecticut born funkstress Deborah Bond and the return one of the Incognito fans favourite Imaani, with the addition of a totally fresh voice on the scene in the form of the soulful 22 year old Australian debutant Chiara Hunter.
Guitarist, main producer and band leader Bluey once again leads his tight rhythm section of Francis Hylton on bass, Matt Cooper on keyboards, Francesco Mendolia on drums and the young percussion sensation Joao Caetano to the perfect sound.
There are guest performances by original Jamiroquai drummer Nick Van Gelder on two cuts, the awesome alto saxophonist Nigel Hitchcock, synthesizer wizard Ski Oakenfull, Elements Of Life percussionist Roberto Quintero, and Incognito regular contributor Richard Bull and many more.

From the plaintive opening number “Amplify My Soul” you get echoes of a classic era that could be easily associated with Marvin Gaye or Stevie’s offerings from the 70’s, to the bubbly, bouncy, catchy number that is immediate and infectious “Hats (Make Me Wanna Holler)”, the album unites all of Incognito’s best character traits. And if ever Incognito had a festival crowd anthem, then “Hands Up If You Wanna Be Loved” is it!

As the mastermind behind Incognito, Bluey, puts it: “This is a labour of love, a gift to those who have supported us over the years”!

Bitty McLean
releases a great new single
“A Step Closer in Love”

May 26th on The Silent River label.

A Step Closer In Love is the Sound Of Summer 2014, and is the first single to be taken from Bitty’s brand new album, “The Taxi Sessions” which has been produced by Bitty and the legendary Sly Dunbar & Robbie Shakespeare .

Bitty’s last outing was as featured guest singer on the highly successful track “ Fu Mancu” with Lee Thompson’s Ska Orchestra which was aired on many playlists including Radio 2’s  & they also appeared on BBC TV’s Later  with Jools Holland.
A little bit of background on Bitty McLean: - he was born in  Birmingham, is a British/Jamaican reggae, lovers rock and ragga musician. The youngest of six children, Delroy McLean was nicknamed "Bitty" due to his small stature.[2] As a teenager he performed with local sound systems, and after studying sound engineering at college, he worked with UB40 as an engineer and producer, co-producing their biggest Album “Promises & Lies”

He is best known for his three UK Top 10 hits including his debut offering "Dedicated to the One I Love" (UK #6[3]) & “It Keeps Rainin' (Tears from My Eyes)” which was his biggest UK hit, peaking at #2.[3] McLean's song "It Keeps Rainin’" topped the charts in New Zealand and the Netherlands . McLean and Sly & Robbie toured Japan, Europe and Morocco in 2008 and 2009 and are currently again touring the USA Australia & Japan.

Sly & Robbie changed the face of reggae several times: in 1976, they introduced a harder beat called "Rockers", which quickly replaced the then-prevalent "One Drop" style, then introduced the "Rub A Dub" sound in the early 1980s. Sly & Robbie were important in developing the trend towards computer-assisted music and programming in the mid-1980s. Chris Blackwell made them the core of the Compass Point All Stars, the Nassau (Bahamas) recording band based at Compass Point Studios that was to produce classic records for Grace Jones, Joe Cocker and Gwen Guthrie among many others.

Far from restricting themselves to the Jamaican scene,  they have played with and produced artists such as Ben Harper, Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, The Rolling Stones, Grace Jones, Joan Armatrading, Gilberto Gil, Joe Cocker, Matisyahu, Serge Gainsbourg, Simply Red, Michael Franti, Sting, Khaled, Mey Vidal, Tricky, Doug E. Fresh, Carlos Santana, Sinéad O'Connor, and others.
Sly and Robbie produced No Doubt's international hits "Hey Baby" and "Underneath It All". They also produced some tracks for Suggs' 1996 debut solo album The Lone Ranger including the hit version of "Cecilia" featuring Louchie Lou & Michie One which sold over 500,000 copies in the UK alone and reached number 4 on the UK Singles Chart.

Do It Again’ is taken from the ‘Do It Again’ mini album, which will be released on 26th May 2014, (Dog Triumph via Wall of Sound and Cooking Vinyl).
This mini album is a precursor to bigger things from Röyksopp. The inevitable end of the campaign will bring their new album.

‘Do It Again’ is one of the most effervescent, effortlessly uplifting electro-pop tunes of recent years, and started life as a rave-inspired throwback. The inspiration for the “accidental pop song” came after a night out together in Bergen. It was just one of 5 tracks inspired by each other’s company, which compelled Röyksopp and Robyn to create something they had never done before. The ‘Do It Again’ mini album represents the perfect coming together of three very original musical minds.

"This 5 track mini-album is the accumulation and embodiment of the synergy between Robyn and ourselves. We've intended this to be a diverse yet cohesive and thought through musical venture; it's meant to be an expression where pop & art reign side by side." (Röyksopp)

“Svein and Torbjörn and I started working on new music in the beginning of 2013, I´ve been going back and forth to Bergen to record and write with the boys up until recently. Collaborating with S & T is something I enjoy very much. In the beginning we just knew we wanted to do something together and then it started to feel more like a band thing than songs for a Röyksopp or Robyn album so we´re releasing this music together as a band you could say.” (Robyn)

Röyksopp and Robyn unveiled a clip last week from ‘Monument’, the first track on the mini album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nek-IvGpe0w

The ‘Do It Again’ tour with Röyksopp and Robyn, already described as one of the most exciting tours of the Summer, begins at Sonar Festival in Spain on 13th June 2014, and includes a headline slot on the BBC Radio 6 music stage at Latitude Festival on 19th July.

Stellify - HIDE - released May 12th
Hailing from the dark streets of South London, the Blues-Rock quartet, Stellify are stamping their presence on the music scene. They have a history of releasing music that is big, bold and can fill largest of spaces. With a distinctive take on the more Bluesy and darker side of Rock'N'Roll they create an unstoppable and exhilarating sound.
Formed in early 2012 by frontman, James Howlett and guitarist Richard Costello, They called upon extremely talented Bassist, Carlos Dittborn, and the chest thumping skills of drummer Daniel Iriondo to complete the line up. Their obvious musical connection has created a thunderous and undeniably unique rhythm section. There are whole chain of influences making up the Stellify sound from Mudday Waters, Cream and The Rolling Stones to Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Band Of Skulls and The Black Keys.
The band served an apprenticeship playing iconic London venues like The Dublin Castle and the Water Rats. In such intimate surroundings their sweeping riffs and huge rhythm and bass backbone bounded off the walls and shook their fans to the boots. Now, with a greater demand for their sound, stellify are filling more salubrious venues like the 100 Club and the O2 Academy with both their growing fan base and their unique brand of rock n roll.
Stellifys development has been progressive, steady and constantly gaining momentum, setting a solid base for a bright future. With their impending new release "Hide" backed up by a number of gigs throughout the summer their sights are set on the here and now; on delivering heart-and-soul rendered rock n roll to their fans. But big things are expected from the guys further into 2014 and beyond.
Stellify are without doubt here to stay and when in comes to making their own unique brand of Rock'N'roll it's only a matter of time before they'll be strolling down the hall of fame.
Live Dates: Live At The 02 Academy, London on Thursday, 8 May 2014 (headlining set)

"What you're about to hear is one of the best debut albums from an English band that I can think of.” - 405

“If ever an independent record deserved to be listened to, it’s this one.” - God Is In The Zine

‘Bodylifting' is the latest single to be taken from Spring Offensive’s acclaimed debut album 'Young Animal Hearts'.

'Bodylifting' premiered on Radio 1’s Review Show to rave response. Its euphoric chanted choruses, swirling organ and guitars and driving grooves perfect for the airwaves. Yet the song still encapsulates Spring Offensive’s particular style of dark, introspective song-writing, lyrically tackling the hyper-sensitive state of one fearing being abandoned by a lover. The song is indicative of Young Animal Hearts as a whole. An album which places the listener at a heightened state somewhere between joy and despair.

The video for Bodylifting was conceived and directed by Matt Cooper (guitar) and Lucas Whitworth (vocals) of Spring Offensive and depicts the great cinematic underdog sporting story. The band feature as haphazard members of a sports team in training for a momentous and career-defining match-up in front of industry talent scouts.**

**Any similarities that you may notice between this and the music industry are, of course, entirely coincidental.

Spring Offensive headline the Hoxton Bar & Grill, London in April, followed by three festival appearances at The Great Escape in May:

Thursday 24th April – Hoxton Bar & Grill

Friday 9th May - The Great Escape

Spring Offensive release 'Bodylifting' digitally on 12th May.  Their debut album 'Young Animal Hearts' is out now.
