Previously promoted by Deuce in May 2013, Ryker Sear now return with their new single Forever Criminal.

Hugely successful Canadian guitar pop band HEDLEY announce first UK single release building on their multi-platinum status overseas
Hedley have just announced they are to release their debut single, ‘Anything’ in the UK on June 2nd, followed by their album ‘Wild Life’ on June 23rd. The band will also play a show at the legendary 100 Club in London on May 28th.
‘Anything’ is as infectious a pop song as you’ll hear all year, and Hedley continue their winning formula throughout the album with a fistful of potential hits making up the rest of the record. The video for ‘Anything’ is also typically tongue in cheek and pokes fun at the Miley Cyrus/Robin Thicke school of video making with nods to both artists in the clip.
Video: http://mtrpl.is/anythingvideoclean
Since forming in Vancouver in 2005, Hedley (frontman Jacob Hoggard, guitarist Dave Rosin, bassist Tommy Mac, and drummer Chris Crippin) have released four double-platinum albums in their native country. With four consecutive multiplatinum albums behind them - Hedley (2005), Famous Last Words (2007), The Show Must Go (2009), Storms (2011) – and a million albums sold, Hedley continue their path to pop music supremacy with the release of ‘Wild Life’.
The new album is already platinum in their home country of Canada, and ‘Anything’ is the band’s fastest selling single to date there, reaching platinum status in a matter of weeks. Hedley is also one of the Top 50 touring acts worldwide thanks to their huge fanbase.
If there’s any band who exemplifies the ‘sky’s the limit’ ethos, it’s Hedley. Few deliver the message that anything is possible with as much inventive humour as Hedley do on the ‘Anything’ single. ‘Wild Life’, the parent album, finds them incorporating vintage analogue keyboards from the ’80s into dance around, sing-a-long anthems such as ‘Got Love’ and ‘Crazy For You’ and ‘ ‘I’ll Be With You’.
“I think one of our signatures over the years has been that you'll hear our single and think that's what the album is, and it's never been the case,” Hoggard says. “We are very emphatic about not pigeon-holing ourselves. We really love all kinds of music, ranging from pop songs that really push boundaries, to ballads that are intimate and honest.”
Hedley release ‘Anything’ on June 2nd through Metropolis
The album ‘Wild Life’ follows three weeks later on June 23rd

It’s Incognito’s 35th birthday this year. 35 years filled with music soaked in soul, coated in jazz with more than a twist of funk and dance. Always animating the world to dance and to get their groove on. In this 35th anniversary year comes Incognitos 16th studio album “Amplified Soul” – to be released on June 2nd, 2014 on earMUSIC.

Recorded and mixed at the legendary Livingston Studio in North London where The Buena Vista Social Club's eponymous multi-million selling first album was mixed and also Björk's 1993 debut album recorded and mixed, “Amplified Soul” consists of 16 brand new tracks. All of them create a bed of soulful funky irresistible grooves that are punctuated by the trademark Incognito horns. At times on this album the band navigates towards a darker sound than on their previous works, offering the listener a new adventure with wonderfully crafted songs wrapped in warm tones. At other times they just get joyously funky!

“Amplified Soul” features singers Tony Momrelle, Vanessa Haynes and new addition Katie Leone who provide some of the best vocal performances ever recorded by the band. They are joined by legendary singer/songwriter Carleen Anderson and Connecticut born funkstress Deborah Bond and the return one of the Incognito fans favourite Imaani, with the addition of a totally fresh voice on the scene in the form of the soulful 22 year old Australian debutant Chiara Hunter.
Guitarist, main producer and band leader Bluey once again leads his tight rhythm section of Francis Hylton on bass, Matt Cooper on keyboards, Francesco Mendolia on drums and the young percussion sensation Joao Caetano to the perfect sound.
There are guest performances by original Jamiroquai drummer Nick Van Gelder on two cuts, the awesome alto saxophonist Nigel Hitchcock, synthesizer wizard Ski Oakenfull, Elements Of Life percussionist Roberto Quintero, and Incognito regular contributor Richard Bull and many more.

From the plaintive opening number “Amplify My Soul” you get echoes of a classic era that could be easily associated with Marvin Gaye or Stevie’s offerings from the 70’s, to the bubbly, bouncy, catchy number that is immediate and infectious “Hats (Make Me Wanna Holler)”, the album unites all of Incognito’s best character traits. And if ever Incognito had a festival crowd anthem, then “Hands Up If You Wanna Be Loved” is it!

As the mastermind behind Incognito, Bluey, puts it: “This is a labour of love, a gift to those who have supported us over the years”!

Bitty McLean
releases a great new single
“A Step Closer in Love”

May 26th on The Silent River label.

A Step Closer In Love is the Sound Of Summer 2014, and is the first single to be taken from Bitty’s brand new album, “The Taxi Sessions” which has been produced by Bitty and the legendary Sly Dunbar & Robbie Shakespeare .

Bitty’s last outing was as featured guest singer on the highly successful track “ Fu Mancu” with Lee Thompson’s Ska Orchestra which was aired on many playlists including Radio 2’s  & they also appeared on BBC TV’s Later  with Jools Holland.
A little bit of background on Bitty McLean: - he was born in  Birmingham, is a British/Jamaican reggae, lovers rock and ragga musician. The youngest of six children, Delroy McLean was nicknamed "Bitty" due to his small stature.[2] As a teenager he performed with local sound systems, and after studying sound engineering at college, he worked with UB40 as an engineer and producer, co-producing their biggest Album “Promises & Lies”

He is best known for his three UK Top 10 hits including his debut offering "Dedicated to the One I Love" (UK #6[3]) & “It Keeps Rainin' (Tears from My Eyes)” which was his biggest UK hit, peaking at #2.[3] McLean's song "It Keeps Rainin’" topped the charts in New Zealand and the Netherlands . McLean and Sly & Robbie toured Japan, Europe and Morocco in 2008 and 2009 and are currently again touring the USA Australia & Japan.

Sly & Robbie changed the face of reggae several times: in 1976, they introduced a harder beat called "Rockers", which quickly replaced the then-prevalent "One Drop" style, then introduced the "Rub A Dub" sound in the early 1980s. Sly & Robbie were important in developing the trend towards computer-assisted music and programming in the mid-1980s. Chris Blackwell made them the core of the Compass Point All Stars, the Nassau (Bahamas) recording band based at Compass Point Studios that was to produce classic records for Grace Jones, Joe Cocker and Gwen Guthrie among many others.

Far from restricting themselves to the Jamaican scene,  they have played with and produced artists such as Ben Harper, Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, The Rolling Stones, Grace Jones, Joan Armatrading, Gilberto Gil, Joe Cocker, Matisyahu, Serge Gainsbourg, Simply Red, Michael Franti, Sting, Khaled, Mey Vidal, Tricky, Doug E. Fresh, Carlos Santana, Sinéad O'Connor, and others.
Sly and Robbie produced No Doubt's international hits "Hey Baby" and "Underneath It All". They also produced some tracks for Suggs' 1996 debut solo album The Lone Ranger including the hit version of "Cecilia" featuring Louchie Lou & Michie One which sold over 500,000 copies in the UK alone and reached number 4 on the UK Singles Chart.

Do It Again’ is taken from the ‘Do It Again’ mini album, which will be released on 26th May 2014, (Dog Triumph via Wall of Sound and Cooking Vinyl).
This mini album is a precursor to bigger things from Röyksopp. The inevitable end of the campaign will bring their new album.

‘Do It Again’ is one of the most effervescent, effortlessly uplifting electro-pop tunes of recent years, and started life as a rave-inspired throwback. The inspiration for the “accidental pop song” came after a night out together in Bergen. It was just one of 5 tracks inspired by each other’s company, which compelled Röyksopp and Robyn to create something they had never done before. The ‘Do It Again’ mini album represents the perfect coming together of three very original musical minds.

"This 5 track mini-album is the accumulation and embodiment of the synergy between Robyn and ourselves. We've intended this to be a diverse yet cohesive and thought through musical venture; it's meant to be an expression where pop & art reign side by side." (Röyksopp)

“Svein and Torbjörn and I started working on new music in the beginning of 2013, I´ve been going back and forth to Bergen to record and write with the boys up until recently. Collaborating with S & T is something I enjoy very much. In the beginning we just knew we wanted to do something together and then it started to feel more like a band thing than songs for a Röyksopp or Robyn album so we´re releasing this music together as a band you could say.” (Robyn)

Röyksopp and Robyn unveiled a clip last week from ‘Monument’, the first track on the mini album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nek-IvGpe0w

Stellify - HIDE - released May 12th
Hailing from the dark streets of South London, the Blues-Rock quartet, Stellify are stamping their presence on the music scene. They have a history of releasing music that is big, bold and can fill largest of spaces. With a distinctive take on the more Bluesy and darker side of Rock'N'Roll they create an unstoppable and exhilarating sound.
Formed in early 2012 by frontman, James Howlett and guitarist Richard Costello, They called upon extremely talented Bassist, Carlos Dittborn, and the chest thumping skills of drummer Daniel Iriondo to complete the line up. Their obvious musical connection has created a thunderous and undeniably unique rhythm section. There are whole chain of influences making up the Stellify sound from Mudday Waters, Cream and The Rolling Stones to Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Band Of Skulls and The Black Keys.
The band served an apprenticeship playing iconic London venues like The Dublin Castle and the Water Rats. In such intimate surroundings their sweeping riffs and huge rhythm and bass backbone bounded off the walls and shook their fans to the boots. Now, with a greater demand for their sound, stellify are filling more salubrious venues like the 100 Club and the O2 Academy with both their growing fan base and their unique brand of rock n roll.
Stellifys development has been progressive, steady and constantly gaining momentum, setting a solid base for a bright future. With their impending new release "Hide" backed up by a number of gigs throughout the summer their sights are set on the here and now; on delivering heart-and-soul rendered rock n roll to their fans. But big things are expected from the guys further into 2014 and beyond.
Stellify are without doubt here to stay and when in comes to making their own unique brand of Rock'N'roll it's only a matter of time before they'll be strolling down the hall of fame.

Track: Bodylifting

"What you're about to hear is one of the best debut albums from an English band that I can think of.” - 405

“If ever an independent record deserved to be listened to, it’s this one.” - God Is In The Zine

‘Bodylifting' is the latest single to be taken from Spring Offensive’s acclaimed debut album 'Young Animal Hearts'.

'Bodylifting' premiered on Radio 1’s Review Show to rave response. Its euphoric chanted choruses, swirling organ and guitars and driving grooves perfect for the airwaves. Yet the song still encapsulates Spring Offensive’s particular style of dark, introspective song-writing, lyrically tackling the hyper-sensitive state of one fearing being abandoned by a lover. The song is indicative of Young Animal Hearts as a whole. An album which places the listener at a heightened state somewhere between joy and despair.

The video for Bodylifting was conceived and directed by Matt Cooper (guitar) and Lucas Whitworth (vocals) of Spring Offensive and depicts the great cinematic underdog sporting story. The band feature as haphazard members of a sports team in training for a momentous and career-defining match-up in front of industry talent scouts.**

**Any similarities that you may notice between this and the music industry are, of course, entirely coincidental.

Spring Offensive headline the Hoxton Bar & Grill, London in April, followed by three festival appearances at The Great Escape in May:

Thursday 24th April – Hoxton Bar & Grill

Friday 9th May - The Great Escape

Spring Offensive release 'Bodylifting' digitally on 12th May.  Their debut album 'Young Animal Hearts' is out now.
