Alavano - "Take Away The Pain" - May 19th 2014.
"I read your letter. I got the news. You're feeling better, well I feel abused..." The opening lines of the song.
Glasgow's Alavano release their heart-wrenching ballad on May 19th 2014 (it's on pre order on iTunes now). They've had huge airplay success with previous singles Lion's Gone and Just One Love and they're set to do it again with this beauty!
Their debut album release will follow later in 2014. We think this track is an absolute stunner - but don't take our word for it:
“Sounds phenomenal, they are set to explode. It’s only a matter of time until Alavano receive universal acclaim." The words of the voice of new music in Scotland, Scottish Sun music columnist and In:Demand Uncut DJ Jim Gellatly (now on XFM).
To date the band have been played on over 200 radio stations around the world, including national airplay on Scotland's Clyde One. They also landed a stunning review in The Sun newspaper.
More info:
Formed in 2012, Glasgow’s power-pop outfit Alavano will soon be releasing their new single "Take Away The Pain" Recorded in Glasgow and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, The Killers, Jack White, The Rolling Stones, Beady Eye, Katy Perry)
With a sweeping melody and heart felt lyrics, the record exhibits a masterful correlation from commercial pop and acoustic roots. It's one of those songs that has the ability to hit a nerve. It's a song about heartbreak, and anyone that's ever lost someone will relate to the raw emotion of "Take Away The Pain".
With a meticulous vocal cast in such explosive and impetuous production, it is easy to see why the band have weekend headlined some of Scotland’s greatest venues, including King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, the main stage of The Barrowlands Ballroom and The Classic Grand.
The band have also played to a crowd of more than 7000 at the Glasgow Warrior’s stadium in Scotstoun, Glasgow.
The architect of Alavano’s songwriting anatomy is their charismatic frontman, 24 year old Ocean Adams. With him are Gen "The General" Ferguson, 23 (keyboards), Stephen Brown, 24 (guitar), Tom Glasgow, 21 (bass) and Craig Harkness, 20 (drums).
With all these ingredients Alavano are set to detonate to mainstream success.
They support Thumpers on May 29th at King Tut's in Glasgow.
We hope you like the track. Please let us know if you do.

Introducing ALTREGO - aka Belgian-born/London-based multi instrumentalist/producer Jasper Erkens - who is set to release his first EP via Bonka Circus, 'Miraculous Epiphanies’ is the first single from it. All tracks were mixed by Valgeir Sigurdsson (Sigur Rós, Damon Albarn). After several experimental outings Erkens conceived ALTREGO, an umbrella identity for his remixes, compositions and live performances (augmented onstage by a pair of co-conspirators). Living at the crossroads between dance funk and the dirtiest sounds of the '80’s, filthy beats and basslines collide with effortlessly catchy pop hooks. ALTREGO also regularly works with visual artists, the latest collaboration ending in the superb video for lead track ‘Miraculous Epiphanies’: Highlights of a packed summer calendar include a performance at the legendary Rock Werchter Festival in Belgium, where ALTREGO is the only unsigned act on a bill that includes Metallica, Arctic Monkeys
and Pearl Jam. facebook.com/altrego.music

Roy Turnham who is based in Liverpool, England

Having toured the UK with his previous band, Roy Turnham has since gone alone, the outcome of which is his recently recorded solo material.
With his material already being played a number of times on BBC Radio and his heavy gig schedule, Roy Turnham has achieved more than most artists can dream of.  What makes this even more impressive is that he is combining his music career with representing England in both athletics and football, and was a part of the blind football team which represented Great Britain at the London 2012 Paralympics.  During this time he was filmed serenading in the Olympic Village after the closing ceremony where he was scouted and given a priority audition for BBC’s The Voice.  Unfortunately he had to turn this offer down due to his football commitments at the time.
Further information on Roy Turnham including forthcoming gig dates can be found on his website www.twitter.com/royturnham or www.starnow.com/royturnham

Grime legend Skepta is back with a new single - “That’s Not Me” – featuring the lyrical talents of his brother and long-time Boy Better Know collaborator JME. The track sees the pair spitting stone-cold flows, trading verses and sharing their experiences of the music industry over a haunting instrumental.
Originally teased as a freestyle in a documentary-style short film shot by Uzi, hype around the track has built quickly. A follow up official video features Skepta and JME performing the track over footage from the original film.
Given its first radio play by Rinse FM’s Julie Adenuga on her Drive Time show the single has already been playlisted by Rinse, 1Xtra and CapitalXtra with strong support over at Kiss FM too.
Early champions of the track include Semtex, MistaJam, Trevor Nelson, Toddla T and DJ Cameo - it’s currently Number 1 on DJ Cameo’s UKG Top 5 on 1Xtra.
“That’s Not Me” is a taste of what’s to come from Skepta’s forthcoming album Konichiwa the much anticipated follow up to his critically acclaimed Blacklisted mixtape.
