London trio BERRIES are channelling feisty riot grrl attitude in new single ‘Waiting’ out Jan 9th.

It’s an edgy riff driven concoction with sweet airy vocals, like if Basement and Warpaint collaborated. Every moment engages with evolving themes painting reckless imagery. There’s edge and grit yet a fresh atmospheric innocence and contemplation.

Beauty is The Beast. Written & Performed By Kiera Osment.

Beauty is the Beast is a sequel to Goldilocks, and as usual I gave it a twist. As obvious from the title, Beauty and the Beast are the same person. Most of the inspiration came from research on dissociative identity disorder, and a bit from Jekyll and Hyde, since I slightly strayed from the psychological rules of the disorder. So to sum it up, it's about the different personalities and their contrasts and similarities, predominately the nice and evil aspects of the mind and why the personalities are there in the first place.

Song Lyrics -

Rose tinted spectacles,

On the eve of the eclipse.

The cerebellums ruptured.

They can't touch their feet.

Blurry states of dopamine.

Whilst crying on cloud 9.

Deep slumber on cats eyes.

The magnets in the blue.

What if beauty is the beast?

Do deface this crystal cloak.

Multiplying belles of the ball.

Will the beast procure the good?

Nebulous space of time.

Split atoms in their sleep.

Stow away villainy

Whispers in the thread.

A candle in dead zones.

Sirens on the grey.

System down, evacuate.

Let shadows take the blame.

What if beauty is the beast?

Do deface this crystal cloak.

Multiplying belles of the ball.

Will the beast procure the good?

Ooh split now split now x4

What if beauty is the beast?

Do deface this crystal cloak.

Multiplying belles of the ball.

Will the beast procure the good?

RICH STEPHENSON TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘ALIBI’ ON 25/11

Autumnal folk-pop track is lifted from new ‘I AM RICH’ EP

London-based singer-songwriter Rich Stephenson will release Alibi, the second single from his new I AM RICH (blue) EP, on Friday 25th November. The new song combines earthy acoustics with pop hooks and is driven by sweeping violins and Rich’s signature bendy-legged, rhythmic strumming.

After a busy summer that saw typically frenetic & audience-charming performances at Glastonbury, Boardmasters, Humber Street Sesh and Beverley Folk Festivals, recent single Better Things To Do cemented Rich’s place as one of the best emerging singer-songwriters in the UK. Confirmed fans Gaby Roslin and Alan Raw invited him in for live sessions and interviews with BBC Radio London and BBC Introducing, whilst Amazing Radio’s Baylen Leonard playlisted the track for three consecutive weeks on his show. Audiences all over the UK were also introduced to Rich with airplay for Better Things To Do on 40 BBC regional stations and 20 other regional radio shows.

Alibi effortlessly blurs the line between folk and pop, and offers another example of an instinctive songwriting talent with an ear for making the personal sound universal. As Rich explains, “Alibi is about the bittersweet nature of relationships and friendships - you fall out, you make up, you share high points, you live through low points, but a tight bond remains throughout.”

Rich Stephenson will be playing shows in support of Alibi and his new EP in Nov/Dec. For more info head to http://www.richstephenson.com

UK songwriter, rapper, and producer Alonestar to release new video and single 'Lovelorn', which cuts deep into unrequited love, and fast living to forget!

Jethro Sheeran aka Alonestar (Ed Sheeran’s cousin), has been working alongside the live band members of Massive Attack to produce this hedonist, sexy, dark track which also sees Girls Aloud’s Sarah Harding feature in the breath-taking video.

'Lovelorn' tells the story of a heartbroken woman who falls in love, but the lust of her life doesn’t love her back – something we can all relate to! Also featuring on the chorus is top 10 singer Rosie Ribbons, her haunting vocals sound like a falling beautiful angel. This sits perfectly on an addictive resonating drum beat recorded by Damon Reece (Massive Attack), and flawless production of the song by Jethro Sheeran and Angelo Brushini (Massive Attack).  And to even more add intrigue- the song itself is about past life experiences for both Jethro Sheeran and Rosie Ribbons, which added to an overly emotional ride when writing and recording the song together!

 Jethro said:

“Lovelorn is the strongest and most powerful song I have written & produced to date, it reflects my new sound and style. It's something fresh, and different to anything else out there at the moment. I dug deep to exercise the darkness in this track, and fell into the depths of my soul when coming up with the concept.”

Alonestar's debut album ‘Cornerstone’ went straight to No3 in the iTunes charts following its release in early 2016, and this new offering is expected to create a similar reaction when released!

Alonestar has previously won two EIA Awards, two Exposure Music Awards, and wrote all of the raps for Ed Sheeran’s SBTV & Live Room Performances, plus his debut single 'Skyla Rain' features Ed Sheeran in the video. He was also the executive producer for Bars and Melody’s platinum selling album ‘143’ which went straight to No4 in the official UK charts.

“A great writer and powerful lyricist”

Portishead

“Sounds great- I want to hear more”

Nellee Hooper (producer for U2 and Madonna)

“Alonestar is refreshing- he could fill a big gap in the music industry globally!”

Roy Merchant (multi platinum selling producer)

DRIFTWOOD RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘THIS CITY’

Anthemic acoustic-pop single from new trio is in download & streaming stores now

Rising UK pop trio Driftwood have released their debut single This City. The energetic and anthemic new track is an impressive cocktail of soulful vocals, earworm melodies and acoustic pop sounds.

After meeting at college three years ago, Preston teenagers Hugh Aitchison and Marcus Maddock quickly bonded over a shared passion for both classic indie and modern pop songwriting and began working on music together. The duo soon found themselves performing at open mics around Manchester and the North West, posting covers and original songs on YouTube and picking up fans online. The line-up of the band was completed when they connected with Nathan Walker following a move to London, and Driftwood have since been busy performing at venues around the UK (including shows at notable live circuit staples Night & Day Café, Sound Control Manchester, The Troubadour and O2 Islington Academy). With their debut Maybe It’s Naïve EP picking up thousands of streams on Spotify and new single This City winning new fans each day, the future looks bright for the talented trio.

Vivid Vague are a haunting prog-folk trio from the shire of Devon. Fronted by Michelle Dilling (Vocals) with Nathan Gregory (Guitars) and Simon Hodgkiss (Drums).

Starting life in 2015 as a grunge rock outfit they have honed their sound into the more subtle and delicate tones that we hear today but still with some dark edges.

Working with the likes of John Cornfield (Robert Plant, New Model Army, Supergrass) in their development, the band have now arrived with a spellbinding live show that is gaining them a loyal and growing fanbase.

Drawing likenesses to Laura Marling, Amy Winehouse, Daughter and Lana Del Rey to name a few, be sure not to miss out on seeing these guys at a venue or festival near you soon.

Adam Sweet -

Take Your Time' is a 5 track EP which presents some of his  latest material in a stripped back acoustic format that closely resembles the sound of his one-man shows. The EP was produced, recorded, played and sung entirely by him at his studio in Lyme Regis. This particular track "New Friend" was co-written with Steve Black (with whom I wrote the majority of my first album).

Lomi are a Plymouth 3-piece playing heavy rock influenced by 90s grunge and everything that kicked ass since.  Formed from Plymouth bands Southpaw Jinx and Discoloured, the members each have over ten years of gigging experience and aim to put on a memorable live show.  Self titled album released in 2017 and said to be the 'best debut this year' on BBC Radio Devon.  Website www.lomirocks.uk and facebook is www.facebook.com/lomirocks

History/Bio

In Plymouth, late 2014, Sam Harvey and Adam Martin decided to hook back up, having performed together with Adam's brother Glenn ten years previous in Discoloured. One of the bands Discoloured had performed with was The Southpaw Jinx featuring Neil Harwood on drums. Since The Southpaw Jinx split, Neil had helped form and play gigs with Roadhouse Bound, then Orpheus Fury, neither of which lasted long, the frustration leading to a two year hiatus away from the scene. With Glenn not showing interest in a current project, Neil was asked to join and help think of a name. After playing with different tribal and Maori words, 'Lomi' was picked as the meaning 'to massage between the fingers' made us laugh.

Neil's encouragement of reviving some of the old Discoloured material gave the band a good starting point, add to that the new ideas floating around, it wouldn't be long before the band could go live. 2015 saw Lomi hitting the local circuit, playing with some awesome bands and getting a reputation as a band worth keeping an eye on. Away from the stage more new songs were being written and by the end of the year an album worth of songs were pretty much complete.

Early 2016 saw the band join Doc in Plymouth's PMC Studios to get the debut album down - ten tracks, four of which were revamped Discoloured tracks and the rest newly penned.

Unfortunately, band politics meant something had to give and towards the end of 2016 Adam was replaced by Billy Turner. The band now featured an 18 year old, a 28 year old and a 38 year old...
