One Man Boycott Are Sick Of It All:
South West Pop Rockers Release New Single From Forthcoming Debut Album
February 2016: Ahead of the release of their debut album in
March, quartet One Man Boycott have unveiled the video for new
single ‘Sick Of It All’. Featuring live footage from their headline set
a Germany’s largest free entry festival, Wutzrock, alongside
coverage of their ‘Break The Silence’ summer tour, you can see it
here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNv1t8f0F9I.

Vocalist Joe Brewer vocalist and brainchild of his solo-project-
turned-full-band One Man Boycott comments on the lyrics of the
single: “they are referring to mine and many others past
experiences trying to get into the music industry growing up.
People calling you shit or casual daily death threats and
horrendous spiteful rumours, all due to the way you look or the
music you play, like that's normal...scary thing is how easy it is to
listen to those kind of people, those haters”. He continues
enthusiastically: “This song is me personally venting, the chance to
mentally stand up and say "you know what? fuck you, I'm sick of it." I sincerely hope that the people know where I'm
coming from with these words connect and it helps them in any way to stand up and be proud.”
Completed by guitarist Lewis Chappell, drummer Frank Rawle and bassist Tom Hitchins, One Man Boycott pen the
kind of energetic, instantly infectious pop rock nuggets that instantly instil a hankering for long sun-soaked days with
good friends. With crisp production from Romesh Dodangoda (Kids In Glass Houses, Funeral For A Friend, Decade),
Counting The Seconds is as accomplished as debut albums get, One Man Boycott confidently presiding over their
arsenal of slick, effortless vocals (Brewer commands an impressive 4 octave range), punchy guitars and driving
drums. Positively soaked in youthful exuberance, the forthcoming debut evokes pop rock’s halcyon days, where the
stables of Drive Thru Records and Fuelled By Ramen saw gem after gem race out the gate with pop hearts
unashamedly on sleeves, swinging songwriting savvy like a deadly weapon.

singer songwriter Nigel Thomas who is widely known for the success he achieved as front man of The Foxes.

Nigel is now about to release an absolute magnificent solo album in which he demonstrates song writing skills and musical proficiency that remind of some of the greatest songwriters of the late 20th century!

18 year old John Parry.

He has the same kind of teenage diary tone as The Streets, yet such a delicate acoustic sound. He’s just unveiled this top quality video set in a London crack-den which The 405 premiered:

Shauna is responsible for one of the most recognisable Irish syncs of the last few years with the track 'Can't Keep Up', which she wrote and performed with her previous band Silhouette, used by Discover NI in an extensive TV advertising campaign. Shauna has spent the last couple of years touring as guest vocalist with Snow Patrol and as bassist with American indie artist Darwin Deez. Collette is also a hugely talented vocalist and musician and can be seen drumming in the video for Gabrielle Aplin's current hit single  'Sweet Nothing'.

While his double A-side release of ‘Firefly’/’Comfy Slippers’ from last summer was more in the style of bands like A Perfect Circle or Tool, Johnny Wore Black is now back with a completely different take on his sound.

As a cracking rock act his work has always been about the energy and the drive of striking sonic eruptions. Ready to hit the world’s dance floors, the songwriter has now decided to team up with DJ Endemix to create remix versions of ‘Firefly’. The song was recorded in collaboration with Megadeth bassist David Ellefson who has, in the past, praised Johnny Wore Black’s sound as “unique”. With online music magazine Metal Temple describing the original version as full of “edgy grooves that make you want to rock around the room”, the new remixes add on some infectious dancefloor vibes. The videos for the Firefly remixes were skilfully recreated from the original animation by Paul Solomons.

By recreating the previous guitar-heavy rock version of the song into a smoother form of elating dance ecstasy, Johnny Wore Black is demonstrating that his uniqueness can take on many different levels. He is an artist who is willing to progress instead of getting stuck within the limits of genre specific ‘rules’.

Having worked with DJ Endemix before, Johnny Wore Black has decided he wanted to reach a wider audience with his music. While not mainly driven by commercial interest, the songwriter was more intrigued by the idea to take his music to a different dimension and be able to make as many people as possible listen to it. He likes the thought of his songs being played in clubs and was particularly inspired by Skrillex’ remix on Korn’s ‘Get Up!’.

Although he sees himself primarily as a rock musician, Johnny Wore Black thinks that the beauty of making music stems from the ability to fuse many different elements into one and create something new.  Being able to work with DJ Endemix was a way for him to broaden his horizon and step into unknown spheres.

When Johnny Wore Black isn’t creating dynamic sound experiences, he finds a different outlet to release his energy by working as a stuntman.

The remix of Firefly is out on 26th February 2016
