Follow You Home - Eyes Wide Open. May 5th release.
From their debut album 'If It Kills Me', Out Now.
Biography
Follow You Home was formed in December 2010 in Derby and is a collective group that draw inspiration from guitar-based bands (as you might expect from a bunch who were born just a stone’s throw from the spiritual home of rock that is Castle Donington) and while they all have a passion for various genres, the likes of Alexisonfire, Brand New, Alkaline Trio and Bayside in particular spur them on to make a noise all of their very own.
Opting to write about real life, the quintet craft refreshingly honest songs that have earned them an ever-growing army of supporters who find solace in their sonic soothsaying.
“Sometimes the world is an ugly, f*cked up place and that needs to be reflected on,” says Rich. “It’s not all doom and gloom though, we like to think that people can relate to our lyrics and draw hope and inspiration from them.”
Firm believers in paying their dues, Follow You Home have taken their musical manifesto to the streets of the UK and, like all the great bands before them, completing several highly successful headline tours as well as supporting the likes of Sum 41, The Starting Line, Pure Love, Lostalone, Sonic Boom Six and many more!
In October 2013 the band released their debut album ‘If It kills Me’ which was funded by their every growing army of fans via Pledgemusic. The band were blown away by the response reaching 100% in just a few hours and finishing the campaign on a staggering 370%
The album features several tracks that have already received fantastic press with the videos ‘Save Yourself’ and ‘Playing With Fire’ already being featured heavily on Kerrang TV, Kerrang Radio and Scuzz TV.
The band have also been featured in several mainstream UK publications such as Rocksound and Big cheese.
2014 is set to be a big year for the band with a stream of live shows in the planner and new singles due out in May. The journey has only just begun!

''Playing With Fire' is a sharp slice of attitude that demands attention.' - Rock Sound

Barstow Bats - Play Piano - out May 4th
They headline King Tut's, Glasgow on Saturday April 19th.
Barstow Bats have already opened the main stage at Wickerman Festival, played to a packed Comlongon Rocks and headlined the Dumfries Music Conference, supported by Honeyblood & Hector Bizerk.
Steered by song writing duo Andrew Rendall and Steven McKie, and powered by the magnetic rhythms of Barry Gemmell (bass) and Daniel Wynne (drums), the four piece know exactly where they’re going.
With all the steel and rootsiness you’d expect from a bunch of Scottish lads and the bohemian style you perhaps wouldn’t, their sound has influences from across the last 50 years. Yet there’s an undeniable and brilliantly stirring Barstow sound – that ranges from the irresistibly catchy to the enchantingly dark and distant.
The group, who signed to independent label Smart Indie mid 2013, will release their debut E.P on May 4th. Label owners, Phil & Rob: “We were drawn to the quality of the song writing. Lennon and McCartney is perhaps a bit over the top but we definitely saw something in the McKie and Rendall partnership.”
It’s a partnership that can be traced back to the earliest school days – an understanding that’s grown on scrappy football pitches, across pub pool tables and in smoky rehearsal rooms. Gemmell and Wynne, having performed in various bands over the last decade, are the perfect musical foil.
With a bagful of songs and maturity in their musicianship, the foursome have established themselves in a frighteningly short space of time.
But this is just the beginning. Expect more. “Buy the ticket, take the ride… and if it occasionally gets a little heavier than what you had in mind, well… maybe chalk it off to forced conscious expansion: Tune in, freak out, get beaten.”

HEATHER PEACE
NEW ALBUM “THE THIN LINE” & SINGLE "WE CAN CHANGE"
RELEASED JUNE 9th 2014
Heather Peace has announced that the follow up to her 2012 debut Fairytales will be called The Thin Line. A release date is set for Monday 9th June on her own label Kaleidoscope Records with label services via Absolute Marketing & Distribution Ltd.
Set to mark her arrival as an exciting new musical talent to a wider audience than ever before, The Thin Line is a soulful, organic pop gem that incorporates Heather’s love of 60’s girl groups, Motown and 80’s pop. It rightly puts her rich, soaring vocals at the fore against a backdrop of lush pop strings, melodic piano riffs and fat basslines.
An actress for 16 years, Heather recently left her role in BBC One drama Waterloo Road to make the album. She said: “Music has been my first love since I began singing in church and taking piano lessons at five years old, but this is the first time I’ve felt confident enough to take a break from acting to give it my full attention. As soon as I was free from learning lines and a 12 hour day filming schedule, the songs flowed and I’m over the moon with how it sounds.”
Produced by James Lewis (Arctic Monkeys, Superfood), the album was mostly recorded live then overlaid with brass sections, strings (by Cliff Masterson – Emeli Sande, Leona Lewis) and drenched in massive backing vocal harmonies from Heather.
Says Heather, “I love Dusty Springfield and 60’s girl groups and from the beginning James and I knew we wanted an album that was recorded in homage to Spector’s Wall Of Sound. We wanted big songs with passion and grit and lots of harmonies. I spent almost a day picking the perfect vocal mic and then it took me almost two weeks to arrange and then record the backing vocals that really bring the record alive.”
As with Fairytales, Heather wrote all of the songs on The Thin Line but this time there are three co-writes with her friend Shelly Poole (Sophie Ellis Bexter, Bo Bruce), one with her guitarist Michael Clancy and one with Scottish singer/songwriter Michelle Sloan.
The full tracklisting is as follows:
The Thin Line (Peace)
No Mercy (Peace/ S.Poole)
Dance With The Devil (Peace)
In My Arms (Peace/ S.Poole)
We Can Change (Peace/ S.Poole)
Forever Drowning (Peace)
Clown (Peace)
House For Your Broken Heart (Peace)
Lily (Peace/ Clancy)
Love Affair With Misery (Peace/ Sloan)
I Pick Flowers (Peace)
News of The Thin Line’s release date and artwork Trended for three hours on Twitter, such is the anticipation from her fiercely loyal fans. Said Heather; “As an independent artist, I’m so grateful and amazed by the support I have from my fans. They’ve supported me from the beginning and without them I wouldn’t have come this far.”
Heather will perform at various festivals throughout the summer before touring with her full band in October. Full live dates here: www.heatherpeace.com/live-dates

ARTIST: LOUISE DISTRAS
TITLE: “Love Me The Way I Am / Bullets”
FORMAT: Double A Side Single  - Downloadable / Limited  Edition Vinyl
OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE: 12/05/2014
LABEL: STREET REVOLUTION RECORDS

Bold, brainy and ballsy, Louise Distras represents nothing less than the rebirth of British punk, reinvented for a new generation. She’s taking the UK, Europe, Canada and soon America by storm.
For a world grown exhausted of Simon Cowell’s X Factor synth-pop, Louise might be too incandescent, all too real.  But you know what? She couldn’t care less.
The Guardian said Louise Distras is putting punk and protest back into the mainstream, and she's trumpeted as the natural successor to Billy Bragg, Joe Strummer and the UK’s answer to Joan Jett.
But insists: “I don’t view myself as a protest singer, I view myself as a young woman passing on the message for the next generation.”
And that message is spelt out vividly on her brand new double A side single "Love Me the Way I Am/ Bullets", released May 12th via Street Revolution Records. Both tracks are taken from 'Dreams from the Factory Floor', Louise's critically acclaimed debut album released September 2013, that received rave reviews from some of the most respected areas of the UK press such as The Guardian, Total Rock, Big Cheese Magazine, and BBC Radio 1 to name a few. Both tracks also feature Mick Talbot from Style Council / Dexys.
Last summer saw Louise Distras trading songs with Billy Bragg at Glastonbury Festival, supporting New Model Army, UK SUBS and touring mainland Europe with Street Dogs, US Bombs,Cocksparrer and an extensive Canadian tour with The Mahones and you can bet your last fiver that you’ll be seeing a lot more of this talented song-smith in the not too distant future. Most likely hitchhiking, guitar slung over her shoulder on the way to a town near you!

Artist: Happyness
Single: ‘Great Minds Think Alike, All Brains Taste The Same’
Impact: 09/06/14
LABEL: Weird Smiling

“Brims with the bravado and naivety of youth” – NME

“These Guys Are Bona-Fide” – The Line Of Best Fit

“Out of the haze, few really stand out but - given what we've heard thus far - Happyness might just be able to do that.” – Clash

Taken from their forthcoming debut album - “Weird Little Birthday” – Happyness release their new single “Great Minds Think Alike, All Brains Taste The Same” on June 9th.

Following on from the critically acclaimed eponymous debut EP at the beginning of this year, “Great Minds” details the band’s willful preference for dogs over humans (I know…).

Recorded in the band’s own Jelly Boy Studios, after a brief session in an abandoned church was cut short by the bitter cold and an unconvinced congregation of the dead, the single was mixed by Adam Lasus (Yo La Tengo, Daniel Johnston) and prominently features a synth leant to the band by Ed Harcourt.

'To Be Young’ is the lead track from the EP of the same name by I Heart Sharks. Their new album 'Anthems' is coming later this summer. The track captures the exact point between optimism and melancholy in a sober look at how we worry about wasting our youth. I Heart Sharks are escapism in it’s purest form, creators of daringly ambitious pop music to violently tear you from the dreary quotidian and throw you into a world where every day is summer. Their second album which will be their first realise on Island Records is a huge step up after their self made and fan-funded independently released first album; ‘Summer’. The new album was recorded with Hurts producer Joseph Cross in a disused textile mill in Manchester and the former GDR radio HQ in Berlin.

M.A.D
SHOTGUN – THE NEW SINGLE
COINCIDES WITH NATIONWIDE ACOUSTIC TOUR
RELEASED MAY 24, 2014
For pop’s newest boy band, 2014 has got off to quite a start. A sold out UK tour that saw queues around many blocks, and another Top 40 single with Fame & TV showed yet again how those M.A.D boys are spreading their infectious likeability.
Now the first signs of Spring are here, the boys announce their new single, Shotgun, another charged up pop guitar anthem you can’t help put your hands up in the air.
Released on May 24th, the single coincides with their 18-city UK tour that starts 4th May in Portsmouth. With lyrics like “Ray-Bans on, Beach Boys on the stereo” this is a feel good summer anthem.

The Taskers - Hogs from Hell, out May 4th 2014.
The Taskers are a brother/sister rock band from Stafford. They comprise of Sophie Bret Tasker and Jack BC Tasker
In early 2012 Jack Tasker was offered a support slot for a local band, he accepted, but asked his sister, SBT, to back him up on him on drums, having grown tired of playing his folky tunes.
SBT accepted, on the basis of making riches beyond her wildest dreams and with the strict condition that they write new songs and don’t play any of Jack’s ‘fruity acoustic ones.’
The gig went well, Sophie made very few riches off it, but they continued to play as a band anyway.
After incredible lengths of creative brainstorming they settled on, The Taskers, as a band name.
They recorded their first album ‘Not to be played or tested’ in the summer of 2012 and worked with local film makers to create a short Wes Anderson inspired film based around the lead track from the album, ‘Catherine.’
Throughout the summer they played gigs across the country, culminating in a fantastic home turf gig at the Sugarmill in Stoke.
Through the autumn of 2013 they recorded two albums, the fully acoustic ‘Jamhead’ and the girthy rock ‘Snuggles?’
During this period they continued to work with the film makers behind the Catherine video to create a short documentary about being a family in a band, their musical inspirations and their obsession with dinosaurs.
The resulting film Taskersaurus was released in 2013 along with their fourth album, ‘No Shit, Just Shoes.’
Since then they have gigged extensively, from dance hall balconies in Nottingham, to dingy basements in Birmingham, to twee timber pubs in York.
Their fifth album Rat Residence was released in February 2014 and is a darker album which mixes both the acoustic and rock sides of the band.
SBT has yet to make any riches from the band.

Duck Sauce – ‘NRG’
Released: 22nd June

The veteran New York DJ team of A-Trak & Armand Van Helden first splashed on the scene as Duck Sauce in 2009, releasing the breakout hit "aNYway", a refreshing return to disco-house at a time when electronic music was essentially a distortion contest. The following year came "Barbra Streisand", with a So-Me directed video that became one of the most talked about cultural phenomena in dance history. With cameos from Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, ?uestlove, DJ Premier, Chromeo, Santigold and Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend, the song and video exploded, amassing millions of views on YouTube in just months (now at over 70 million), landing at #1 on charts all over the world, finding its way everywhere from shampoo commercials and video games to being covered on Glee and landing a Grammy nomination.

In 2011, Duck Sauce cemented their reputation as house music's official video pranksters with "Big Bad Wolf" whose VMA-nominated clip (10 million views) managed to ride the line between crude shock value and ethereal surrealism. 2013's "It's You", an orgiastic barbershop revelry (6 million views) earned them yet another VMA nod.  As the anticipation grew for their fabled debut album, they released the Duck Tape mixtape as one of the year's most critically lauded BBC Radio 1 Essential Mixes. Carefully calculating its live appearances -- albeit accompanied by a 20-foot inflatable duck -- the group maintained its enigmatic less-is-more approach with a perpetual smirk on their bills.

DUCK SAUCE ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM!
QUACK TO BE RELEASED APRIL 15th VIA FOOL'S GOLD RECORDS
Quack, Duck Sauce's full length studio debut is fueled by the duo’s strong connection with New York hip-hop, Chicago house, disco debauchery, slapstick comedy and, of course, UFOs.  More Dr Octagon than Daft, tightly knit with skits worthy of early De La Soul records, Quack is a fully immersive journey into the land of Duck: euphoric loops, mixtape cut-and-paste and conspiracy theories abound.  (You'll also dance your ass off.)  No other group is capable of bringing the rich and visual tradition of sample-heavy music into the current trends of pop and EDM of 2014.  Stay tuned for more Duck Sauce news - and catch the duo at Coachella!

Ashley Roberts announces May 25th release date for first single ‘Clockwork’ from debut solo album due out this summer

Long before Brits fell in love with Ashley Roberts on television (I'm A Celebrity, Dancing On Ice, Saturday Night Takeaway), she had walked away from one of the biggest pop groups in history, The Pussycat Dolls; without anything more than a dream to make music, on her terms, with her words, and her voice.

Fast forward to today, and Ashley is putting the finishing touches to her debut album at the world famous Metropolis Studios – recording home to such artists as Will.i.am, Florence and The Machine, Rihanna and Amy Winehouse. The first offering from that debut, ‘Clockwork’, is set for release on May 25th, with a second single and eagerly awaited album to follow in the late summer.
Ashley has also made free download available of a remix of one of the tracks from the album, entitled ‘My Song’. The ‘Comets We Fall’ remix of ‘My Song’ adds another dimension to the project and many more dance mixes are set to appear in the coming weeks.  The free download will be available from Ashley’s website www.imashleyroberts.com.

Having worked with some of the most creative pop producers in the world over the last 12 months - including Red Triangle on ‘Clockwork’, who’s recent work with One Direction, Cee Lo Green and Little Mix has put them firmly among the best - Ashley’s debut album has been a complete labour of love for the singer and songwriter, and she’s poured her heart and soul into these songs. With a lifelong passion, drive and vision for her own music career, Ashley proves with this debut that she has genuine star quality and a voice to match!
Having made her name in one of the biggest girl groups of all time, The Pussycat Dolls, Ashley is now ready to build upon the experience that the former all-conquering pop group gave her and take her music career to the next level. With an enviable and ever growing fanbase through her multi-media profile, Ashley boasts a unique platform from which to launch her new album and is hugely excited about fans hearing what she’s been devotedly working towards.

‘Clockwork’ is the perfect entry point to this accomplished and deeply personal album. Ashley added “’Clockwork’ represents a relationship that had its moment and when it did it was fireworks. But now it's fizzled out and you want to go back for more fireworks even though it's done. It's dangerous and exciting but may leave you a little scarred.  We've all had one of those”.

Showing beauty, fragility and power, the anthemic single boasts broody beats, electric guitar, an explosive, arms-aloft chorus and a hailstorm of hooks. Its soft-loud dynamic and real drums borrow from rock, but its shimmering synths are pure summer pop. The track is an exciting glimmer of what to expect from the light and shade in her forthcoming full length.

John Butler Trio ready themselves for biggest UK Tour to date in support of latest album ‘Flesh & Blood’.
Following the release of uplifting and joyous single ‘Only One’, and their latest album ‘Flesh & Blood’, Australian superstar act John Butler Trio hit the UK for the first time in support of the release. With its cascading acoustic riffs flowing effortlessly over driving rhythms while sun kissed steel drums and an inspirational melody and lyric, ‘Only One’ delivered a quality launch pad for the bands sixth album. ‘Flesh and Blood’ captures John Butler Trio working on old strengths and finding new ones even at a time of change. For fans of the band, there is much to take from this, their most accomplished studio album to date.
‘Only One’ is accompanied by a fantastically tongue in cheek zombie filled video, with the band themselves performing as Zombies. John commented, "’Only One’ is one of those 'turn around’ songs. The idea of a Zombie love story came to me a while ago. I wanted the song and video almost to be juxtaposed but still somehow have an element of love....and humour. I think we made a seriously cool and funny video. I love it. Even if I do look dead!"
It’s been nearly 4 years since the release of their last studio album ‘April Uprising’ and in that time John Butler Trio have toured the world to ever increasing audiences, played key roles in fighting environmental causes in Australia, released 2 live albums- Live at Red Rocks and Tin Shed Tales - and most importantly crafted and recorded ‘Flesh & Blood’.
"I hope they take it with them on a journey. I hope it can be the soundtrack for some great moments in their life and some shit moments in their life and I hope it can be there for them at the ebb of their energy wave and at the crest of it. In the loud times and the quiet times ~ John Butler.
Now one of the most successful Australian bands of all time, John Butler Trio have recently welcomed new drummer, percussionist and backing vocalist Grant Gerathy to the fold. John added, “I have been really looking forward to playing these shows for a while now and to be introducing Grant with all his funk and flavours to all our fans is a real thrill. Grant, Byron and I have been having an awesome time fine tuning the new album and spicing up our old songs. We can’t wait to unveil it to the fans”.
The John Butler Trio return to the UK for the first time in 3 years this month. Since those last shows, the band has continued to tour the world cementing its stature as one of the most thrilling live bands on the global touring circuit.

Anima - The Sun and the Moon. Released April 28th 2014 taken from their forthcoming "Remember it's a Memory" e.p. which follows on June 7th 2014.

Full Biography:
ANiMA (pronounced Ann - Im - ma )are a Birmingham band fitting uncomfortably into the grunge genre, for want of a better description. The truth is, the group's influences are fairly conflicting and eclectic; they consider System of a Down, Smashing Pumpkins and Suede all root influences, amongst others, and generally strive to stay clear of genre defining conventions.
The band formed in 2011, in the wake of the split of singer Dan Sheridan's former band The Fairytale, when he realised he was writing so prolifically it would be unhealthy not to form a new group.
Guitarist and brother Christopher Charles Lutha Sheridan, and polish bass player Mike Bar were recruited, and after a couple of frustrating years working through different, unsatisfying iterations, drummer Adam Wakefield was introduced to the band by a mutual friend.
The chemistry soon became apparent, and a streamlined, intrinsic and more powerful ANiMA was born.
The debut EP, 'Homeopathy', contains a more raw form of ANiMA's sound, although the integrity is still apparent, and its opening track 'Dysphoria' remains one of the band's most popular songs.
The single 'The Sun & The Moon' was originally released in 2013 to a very positive response - including airplay on Kerrang! Radio. The year concluded with ANiMA lauded as RGG Band of the Year 2013, and the upcoming EP is due for a release towards mid 2014.
The promo video for the EP, showcasing the re-release of 'The Sun & The Moon' was first shown in February.
The design of ANiMA lies in a sincere rock sound, confessional lyricism, originality, and the desire to secure ferocious hooks insatiably into the eardrums of their audience. They remain a 'popular music' band, and the songs often fall into the three minute, 'verse-chorus-verse' pattern, but a metal influence infuses the guitars and tears through the vocals at any given opportunity.

MAN CAN’T FLY – ‘Vacant’ (feat. A Girl Called Ruth)

Release Date: May 26th, 2014

“REALLY good” Huw Stephens

“Got Goosebumps, didn’t ya?” Sara Cox

Debuting in 2013, Man Can’t Fly have already made a name for themselves on the Radio 1 Playlist with introductory single ‘Don’t Waste My Time’. Championed by BBC Introducing, MCF secured a slot on the Intro stage at Reading & Leeds 2013.

Man Can’t Fly are making their eagerly-anticipated return with their second independent single ‘Vacant’. Collaborating with female singer-songstress A Girl Called Ruth (featured in The Guardian Band of the Day and a favourite of BBC Radio Wales), the track boasts a quirky ‘Of Monsters and Men’ feel, with a sharpened edge.

Further achievements include video airplay on C4’s Sunday Brunch, a performance at Bingley Music Live Festival alongside Primal Scream and Nile Rogers, a sell-out gig at The Cockpit in Leeds, and an upcoming support slot at The Dunwells album launch.

                                                                 BAD BOY Remix by Indiraa

The original Simon Ellis production of Bad Boy has been given a London Crew makeover by rising Beats Producer Will "Freshfield"... The words "Fresh & Edgy" instantly roll off the tongue but with the subtle undertones of sexual desire and bad girl innuendos that have become a trademark of Indiraa's Style ever-present - Bad Boy is sure to be another dance floor filler for Lyrical Maestro Indiraa.. The single is due for official chart release on April 14th and will be available to purchase digitally from most online stores!

Indie rockers The Clox are promoting their new landmark single, ‘Jules Verne’.
Well-entrenched within the genre, the radio-friendly ‘Jules Verne’ exhibits well-shined guitar orientated production.
However, the most remarkable element is the standout vocal of Denis Orynbekov - who poses an entirely unique sound, unlike any other in the business.
‘Jules Verne’ is due out later this month, on April 28.
And the band - who are made of Denis Orynbekov (guitar and vocals), Ruslan Baimurzin (drums) and Igor Reznik (bass) - have been well received in the UK.
After forming in 2009 with just Denis and Ruslan, the band later welcomed Igor and penned two albums, ‘Ready to Starve’ in 2010 and ‘Civilian’, as well as the ‘Jules Verne EP’ in 2012.
With an impressive back catalogue of events, The Clox have a lot of buzz about them - US beachwear retailer Caribbean Joe pioneered their track ‘Faces’ in a marketing campaign, alongside massive artists like Kings of Leon and Coldplay.
And the band are regularly topping fan-fuelled charts on the Outstage website - who are an affiliate of MTV. As well as that, they have graced radio waves on MTV, Oxygen Channel and PBS across the globe.
International modelling agencies Ford and Trump Model Management got on board with the band’s work, heralding a remarkable licensing deal with the band’s musical repertoire.
New York’s DELI Magazine have declared The Clox as one of NYC’s best bands of 2012. Music media outlets have pushed their videos for ‘Jules Verne’ and ‘Already Done’ to the wider public, gathering the group a mass of fans.
Gaining a great deal of press coverage and having took to the stage on some of the city’s most prestigious venues, the band, who are originally from Kazakhstan - have made a name for themselves across NYC.
Baeblemusic, DJ Top Twenty, WoellJ's Music Playlist, KIT21, The Indie Browser, Joey Voodoo Lifestyle, Dads Big Plan, Cap'n Carrot, and many more played their songs alongside massive artists such as Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Oasis, Magnetic Fields, and Feist.
They’re now focusing on spreading their success abroad - and critics around the UK and Europe are excited.
The Voice of New Music in Scotland, Jim Gellatly has called their work “beautiful noise”.
DELI Magazine wrote: "Hailing from Kazakhstan, the group has set up shop here in Manhattan to show us all how a lot of this heavy rock business is supposed to be done.
“Listen to the anthem ‘Jules Verne’ off their latest EP of the same name, and tell me these guys don’t know how to do it.
“Their unique cross between bands like INXS and Oasis does what this band is good at: sounding familiar and exotic at the same time.
“The rest of the EP follows this formula closely, leaving almost no stone unturned in carving out a large sound that just might work anywhere in the world."
They added: ““The Clox can make what feels like a solid three minute guitar pop jam feel like an epic journey through the jungles of distorted guitar hooks [Listen to epic album opener, ‘Civilian’] and back out again to solid groove funkiness. The band attaches an existential dread of all things weird and dangerous to solid jazz funk chops that make it all fun.”
Irish music mag U and I Magazine said: “Civilian is an absolute gem of an album to listen to, it must be said.”
"A band that have a very compact sound that is well worked on. They bring some synth into proceedings, but it is added in the right places and when it meets the guitar the results are truly spectacular. The rhythm is held in check and what you get as the end result is something that gels really well on account of the effort put in,” Twenty1Zero Media from Dublin, Ireland commented.

Such Sights Unleash Debut Video Single 'In Her Name'
Sheffield’s (UK) punk fuelled alternative/metal outfit ‘Such Sights’ announce the release of their debut video single for ‘ In Her Name’. Taken from the bands infectiously appealing -‘Where Hell Begins’ EP, the young upcoming British rock act are gearing up for a string of releases this year and live shows across the UK.
Already starting to make waves across the north of England, the South Yorkshire bred quintet - hit listeners hard with an exciting fusion of alternative rock, pop punk and metal. Influenced by bands such as Taking Back Sunday. The Bled and Comeback Kid – the fast paced, hard riffing and distinctly anthemic ‘Such Sights’ are quickly building their reputation as a live band exploding with raw energy and potential. 2014 could well see yet another Sheffield act with the skills to achieve great heights.

Spotlight Kid - A Minor Character - out 14th April.
The new album 'Ten Thousand Hours' is out on now and is available in all good record stores and online visit www.spotlightkidsound.co.uk
Biography
Spotlight Kid are a Nottingham-based shoegaze band. Line-up: Chris Davis (formerly of sixbyseven) on drums, Katty Heath (formerly of Bent) on vocals, Rob McCleary & James Taylor on guitars and Matt Holt on bass.
They were handpicked by Zane Lowe, Jo Whiley, Tom Robinson and Steve Lamacq to play Glastonbury in 2011.
They make reverb-soaked noise-pop of the finest order, with layered harmonies & swirling distorted guitars which at one time may have sat happily grinning among the Creation Records roster of the 90's.
'Ten Thousand Hours' is their 3rd album and latest offering.
Every track is soaked in melody and atmosphere layering Katty Heath's voice, much bolder and upfront this time, against pounding drums, bass, shimmering guitars and keys.
Produced by Todd Howe who can also be found playing guitar in The Boxer Rebellion. He has helped add a coherent sense to the whole album, which was written and recorded in several studios, including their own basement studio in Nottingham over last year.
Ten Thousand Hours is a huge step forward from the previous album but instantly recognizable as the same band - loud, uplifting, melodic and noisy.

We Are The Catalyst - Being Number One - out now!
We Are The Catalyst was formed in Varberg, Sweden, by Catrin Feymark and Kenny Boufadene in November of 2012.
After several years of touring and releasing albums as members of the Swedish Modern Metal act One Without, (Who amongst other things toured with bands like Dead By April, Katatonia and Evergrey, was signed to Lifeforce Records and released two albums) both Kenny and Catrin felt the need to do something different from what they had previously done both musically and ideologically.
The band released their first EP; "Panem Et Circenses" on May 2nd 2013.
In November of 2013 WATC partnered with director Grzegorz Jonkajtys, the extraordinary visual effects artist famous for his work on such epic movies as Transformers, Pacific Rim, Terminator Salvation, Star Trek Into Darkness and Sin City, and made the extraordinary video for the single "Tomorrow".
2014 has so far seen the band focusing on finishing their debut album with the working title "Believe In Everything Because Everyone ́s Right" set for release later this year, as well as releasing the amazing video for "Being Number One", directed by Stephan Zlotescu, drawing attention to modern societies obsession with being the biggest, the fastest and the best. "Being Number One" challenges the need to have the newest and the latest, but in the video the topic is taken to the next level.
We Are The Catalyst was based around the idea that if you want something to change, you have to start that change by yourself, and within yourself, hence changing the world in the long run.

Miggi who is based in Portsmouth, England

Playing guitar and writing songs on and offer for over 40 years, Miggi has had an illustrious career the music industry.
Having performed live on London’s Capital Radio as well as on a number of local stations, Miggi is currently recording all of his material in his home studio where he has on occasions invited guest musicians in to help produce the right end product.

,INHERIT THE STARS
Here At The Edge' from Sheffield's (UK) young rock/metal-core act 'Inherit The Stars' www.facebook.com/inheritthestarsofficial and www.twitter.com/InheritOfficial

'their debut album is a jewel in their crown that could see them on their way to global domination' - Metal Mouth 9.5/10

'ITS have the potential to tear the post-hardcore genre wide apart' - ElectricHarmonyReviews

'the potential to be my favourite discovery of 2013 already' - Loud Stuff

Breaking out onto the music scene in late 2012 with a style that's completely their own, Sheffield (UK) born and bred quintet Inherit The Stars are an explosion of sound that should not be missed. With all five members already being well-aquainted with the stage, their live shows ooze energy, creating an impressive gigging experience. Listing some of their major influences as bands such as Fightstar, Funeral For A Friend, Enter Shikari and Chiodos, Inherit The Stars are most recognisable for their powerful riffs, lulling string arrangements, adrenaline-filled synth lines and anthemic choruses.
Boasting a debut album produced/mixed by Jim Pinder at Treehouse Studio (Fightstar, Rise To Remain, While She Sleeps), 'We Were Made To Walk The Skies' was digitally released in May 2013 and earned positive attention from rock/metal critics for their genre pushing sound which takes elements of post-hardcore and alternative rock gelled with metalcore and a dose of punk pop. Equally championed by alternative rock and metal press and radio around the world, Inherit The Stars released three video singles as part of their apocalyliptic themed Orbis Trilogy. In the space of a few months, Inherit The Stars' fast rising popularity has taken them from the smallest of venues to headling Sheffield's 02 Academy for the launch of their latest single 'Ground Zero'

Louise Rutkowski - Help Me
The sensational new single ‘Help Me’ by former This Mortal Coil singer Louise Rutkowski is out now - March 31st. Currently play listed on BBC Radio Scotland.
Showcasing her stunning voice, the track features a gentle accompaniment of piano and percussion.
Building throughout - the pop ballad is joined by upsurging choral backing, inhabiting an cloud-bursting orchestral crescendo.
For a song so simple - it displays the true talent of the renowned singer turned songwriter.
The Scots music veteran from Glasgow rose to fame as part of gothic pop supergroup This Mortal Coil, signed to 4AD records, in the 1980s.
In 2001 she released six new songs via her own label, Jock Records. Later on, with Glasgow musician Irvin Duguid, her acclaimed single ‘Mimi’ hit the shelves.
The seasoned vocalist has now established herself as a prominent solo artist and has released her debut album ‘Diary of a Lost Girl’.  (out now)
The album, which Rutkowski says was written over seven years and was released on February 21. It is her fifth studio album, but first on her own.
She said her inspiration throughout the recording was: “To have a solo album of my own co-written material, using my influences of Kate Bush, The Blue Nile and Peter Gabriel, to create an honest and intimate piece of work.”
Produced by Duguid, it includes mixes by Calum Malcolm (The Blue Nile), and Steve Orchard, and marks a return to the writing of original material since her music career began with the soul-influenced band Sunset Gun, signed to CBS Records in the 1980s.
Her work has been described as “full of melancholy, introspective and reflective”.
Critics on her website say the album as: “A truly haunting and beautiful album”,
“Beautiful, stirring and alive with emotion”, and “Pure poetic, lovelorn angst at its best”.
She plays live in London on April 8th at St James Theatre.

The charismatic and captivating UK debut ‘Rock and Scissors’ has an engaging style reminiscent of UK favourites Ben Howard, Benjamin Francis Leftwich and Kodaline.

Although Michael shot to YouTube fame in 2012 covering hits by the likes of Radiohead, Lana Del Rey and Daft Punk; he was quick to put his own song-writing skills to use. Michael’s debut LP secured the No1 spot on the German album charts in late 2012, proving his talent competes with the standard of artists’ he famously covered.

Candy Says - 'Not Kings' impact date: Monday 14th April 2014!
Taken from the debut album released in May!
Candy Says got us all excited - Clash Magazine
A Sublime Slice Of Percussive Pop - The 405
Already Record Of The Week on Amazing Radio.
Previous radio support for the band has come from Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq, Nemone & Chris Hawkins (6Music), Hattie Pearson (XFM) and Frank Skinner on Absolute Radio.
After the release of 2 sold out cassette singles via Cool For Cats (Fight Like Apes, Thomas Tantrum, Mercy) in 2013, Oxford lo-fi pop collective Candy Says will release their infectious new single Not Kings (out April 7th) and their debut album, also called Not Kings (out May 5th), this spring.
Recorded entirely in the garage of lead vocalist Juju Sophie’s bungalow, the band recreated modern sounds, loops and beats using vintage organs, synths and guitars.
The result is a "lo-fi chic pop" sound – thoughtful and inventive arrangements masquerading as retro pop.
This April they’ll be giving people their first taste of the album when they head out on tour in support of Chrysta Bell:
April:
Mon 7 Oran Mor, Glasgow
Tue 8 Sacred Trinity Church, Salford
Thu 10 Holywell Music Room, Oxford
Fri 11 Oslo, London
Candy Says are Juju Sophie (lead vocals/guitar) and Ben Walker (organ, synths).

ANIMAL HOUSE" and clearly set another pace. "House Rock" surprises with clubby beats, funky sounds, punchy baselines and a lush production.

"What Goes Around" comes around like a "Charlatans-Tune" in a Garage-styled guise. It's a crisp and clean approach to a Poptune. Not a single note is wasted. Listening to the easy-going vocal-line feels like this melody has been in your head for ages. You can now safe it to you collection. But this won't keep it from spinning in your head.
The title "House Rock" is slightly misleading for there's much more Disco you'll find inside. A pulsating synth-layer sets the stage for a very colorful arrangement. Packed with playful elements falling in and out, Justin creates a lot of tonal friction which keeps the mood still in line with a sing-a-long mode, but it's a tricky one this time.
"3am" and the time is right to get a drink at the bar… the intro which could well be a pensive Rhodes-motif allthrough the proceedings will disappear just after the central key stabs shift the whole affair to become a joyful dance-track. More stringently d.a.n.c.e. than the rest of the package, the vocals are kind of hazily mixed into the background adding a trance-like atmosphere to it.
It's seems like Mr. Schultz has recently listened to a lot of Kitsuné's fine cuisine of sharply-cut pop-selections. "What's Gonna Be In The Night" is a standout moment for the label in terms of sheer joyfulness. It kicks in with a funky French House-feel and when it gets to the euphoric chorus you can't resist to fall in love with the song and life - it is THAT positive!
Dreamy, warm, and gently taking you by the hand to go home - After a great ride you creep into your bedroom under the pillows and get happy by listening to "Glow" - That's it folks!

HODA

She made us hold our breath for a year, but it’s been worth it! With her new single Exhale, Hoda has marked her ground as a unique and versatile songwriter with an unmistakably distinctive sound. Raunchy feedback guitars, crisp bass lines and snare-driven drums respond to Hoda’s seductive instructions, tightly lifting together into the track’s climactic choruses.

How’s this sound for a cocktail? Pour one Polly Harvey cup of Persian
mystical wine,  add a dash of Patti Smith, mix with Pixies and garnish with a sprinkle of Karen O. Or put another way…Hoda

Tehran-born and London-bred, Hoda’s diverse background is matched only by the diversity of her musical influences from Joni Mitchell to Nick Cave; Stone Roses to QOTSA, with a twist of Siouxie Sioux. When asked how she describes her music, she replied, “Some call it ‘Post-Folk’… We call it Rock.”

Her self-produced debut EP Arrivals (2011) saw Hoda crack out of her shell to explore a range of musical possibilities. A year on, she self-released the single “Raging Waves” securing her airtime on BBC TV and radio and a standing ovation at London’s legendary 100 Club.

“A great song” Nick Launay (Yeah Yeah Yeah’s/ Nick Cave)

“Passionate, raw.” (Faranak Amidi, BBC)

“Hoda is definitely one to watch” (Fink)

With Exhale Hoda has officially crashed the party. She might just be Britain’s answer to the string of whiney one-hit electro-folk acts and a heeled kick-in-the-face of corporate rock. A songwriter of substance, a real woman and a visceral performer, Hoda’s music, much like herself, stands fiercely on the edge of the rocky cliff, offering us the power of authenticity, no matter which way the wind blows.

HODA’s 2nd EP is due for release later this year followed by a UK & European tour.

SILHOUETTES

Silhouettes unleash new single ‘Prufrock’s Dream’ on 19th May as a precursor to the release of debut album ‘Ever Moving Happiness Machines’ on 2nd June, both via UK independent Integrity Records.

Follow-up to debut single and Fake DIY Record of the Week ‘Gold Tag’, ‘Prufrock’s Dream’ is a modern day sequel to TS Eliot’s poem ‘The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock’ in which a descendant of Prufrock grapples with his political ineffectuality as a member of the voiceless global herd.

“A very promising band trying and succeeding at something really quite hard to execute"
Alex Baker - Kerrang! Radio

“I love Gold Tag”

Jack Parker - Amazing Radio

“Thumping electronica with mind bending rock-out pieces and falsetto vocals. Not to be missed!”
RipitUp!

With influences such as John Grant, Massive Attack and Bon Iver, Silhouettes’ debut album twists and turns from haunting pin-drop falsetto sparseness to crunching post-punk guitars and pumping Moroder-esque electro with a beat and swagger to match their fashionable B-Town neighbours.

Songwriter/vocalist Nathan came across the title ‘Ever Moving Happiness Machines’ in an Adam Curtis documentary, The Century of the Self, which described how Freudian philosophy was used by the U.S. Government to convert society into consumers:“I think the title ties the album together well. The songs are mostly about the awakening of the self within a society obsessed with the vacuous ends of consumerism. The epiphany leads to a transformation of the self through a pursuit of deeper, more natural truths about happiness.”

Silhouettes’ tour calls at the following: 14th Apr - Kasbah, Coventry / 16th Apr - The King Billy, Northampton
18th Apr - The Roadhouse, Manchester / 19th Apr - The Windmill, Brixton
26th Apr - Love Music, Hate Racism Festival, Town Hall, Dudley
27th Apr - 6/8 Kafé, Birmingham / 1st May - The Dublin Castle, Camden
Silhouettes are:  Nathan Till - Vocals, Guitars // Jay Cuthill - Samples, Keyboards, Production //
Ben Blewitt – Keyboards // Xander Roberts- Bass, Vocals // Ben Dargue- Drums

 TERRY EMM

Forever and After, the next track to be unveiled from Bedfordshire singer-songwriter Terry Emm’s third album ‘Starlight’, is a summery slice of English jangly guitar-pop, with a rousing 'seize the day' sentiment.

The track is the next single from Terry Emm's highly anticipated third album 'Starlight'. The single follows an online video release of album track 'Loved And Never Lost' which now has over 20,000 views and was also picked up by Tom Robinson's ‘Fresh On The Net’ and received subsequent airplay by Chris Hawkins on BBC 6 Music. The album’s title track ‘Starlight’ was also unveiled recently online to gain wide attention all over the blogosphere including ‘Track Of The Day’ features on the taste-making ‘For Folks Sake’ blog, Shout 4 Music and Indie London. ‘Forever And After’, however breaks out of the pastoral alt-folk stylings of these two tracks with an uplifting guitar-pop urgency and big harmonies. Striking a lyrical note of optimism for what may lie ahead, the warm melodic spring in the step of ‘Forever and After’ demonstrates that Emm possesses a natural pop instinct.

‘Forever and After’, conjures Emm’s youth growing up in the 90’s, listening to Brit-pop with it’s Del Amitri / Boo Radley’s esque bright harmonies and sparkly guitar sound and sees him looking back into the haze and naivety of youth to reminisce about young love and lost summers. The lyrics deal with dreaming of success letting go, with a confident realization that it takes less than we think to ‘be what you like’, as in the main chorus line. At only 26 and playing support shows with current Radio 2 buzz act Emma Stevens and upcoming dates coming with folk artisans The Moulettes and US bluesman Harry Manx, Emm looks set to taste more of the success he was dreaming of in youth.

‘Starlight’, to be released on August 11th, was produced by Michael Clarke (Clarkesville, Andy Burrows) and features strings by Calina De La Mare (Tindersticks, Ray Lamontagne). On the collaborations, Emm says ““I was a fan of Michael’s band ‘Clarkesville’ when I was younger and their album inspired me a lot with its mix of uplifting pop rock tracks and singer-songwriter style tracks”. “After finishing my last album “Petals Fallen Off The Sun”, I was trying to get out of quite a dark place which that album reflects and kept running into coincidences involving Michael Clarke. I found out that he was now producing and so eventually started laying down some experiments with him and the rest is history. Likewise, involving Calina, I had loved her arrangements on albums I’d listened to when I was young and thought I’d reach back into my youth musical influences in order to take it forward on this new album. The best music from your youth always sticks with you”, he adds.
