ITAMAR - Patience. Out Jan 27th 2014.
The voice of new music in Scotland Jim Gellatly calls their singer the "Israeli Morrissey" - and now Itamar are presenting a brand new single.
The anticipated indie pop track ‘Patience’ is due later this month.
It consists of uncompromisingly beautiful intertwined melodies on the guitar, backed with a blissed-out padding on the synth and organ, carried along with pounding drums and a matchless vocalist.
When the song passes its cloudbursting zenith and comes to an end - the urge to listen again is fuelled.
It is a finessed piece of songcraft which incorporates rock’n’roll’s past into a very modern affair.
The London-based four-piece consist of frontman Itamar, lead guitar and synth player Fabien, as well as Rew on bass and Pavel on drums.
Itamar, who the band is named after, has also drawn comparisons with the likes of David Bowie and Jarvis Crocker after airplay on more than 50 radio stations in the United Kingdom.
DJs and listeners across BBC Radio 6 Music, Kerrang! Radio, Amazing Radio, BRMB and more have praised the work of the band.
Chris Straw, of Bauer Media Group, who own Kerrang! and Q Magazine said: “I hear more in this every time I hear it, as well crafted song that takes you on it’s own three minute journey.”
Having taken to the stage alongside genre-giants The Cribs, The Charlatans, Lightning Seeds and The Magic Numbers - Itamar are ascending the proverbial music career ladder.
And they have just wrapped up their tour supporting chart-topping British rockers Suede.
The debut album was funded via a campaign on Pledge Music - a website allowing viewers to buy ‘pledges’ from the artist to help finance their project.
A pledge can consist of an award, such as a signed copy of the album upon its completion.
The album ‘Reason To Deny’ is out on February 17th (with a launch gig at the Camden Barfly on the same day), with the single 'Patience' due on January 27th. (pre order from Jan 13th)
