Max Jury New Single ‘Beg & Crawl’
Taken from His Debut Album Out June 3rd
Single Impact Date: June 3rd.
Label: Marathon Records

23 year old Max writes, sings, plays guitar and piano, and has a voice like no other. He’s spent much of the last two years living in London, his adopted second home, after growing up in Des Moines, Iowa.

Among his many fans, Mark Ronson says: “Max’s songs and musicianship conjure up so many of my favourite elements of country, soul, gospel and rock ‘n roll. I can listen to his album on repeat.”

And who are we to argue? Max Jury writes perfectly formed songs that veer from the bittersweet, to the romantic, the bruised and even the hopeful. Sheer bliss.

His debut album, ‘Max Jury’ was recorded in New York with hip hop producer Inflo and a crackerjack band of musicians who regularly play with Alicia Keys and D’Angelo and in a sleepy North Carolina town
with the musical director of a small, local black church. Both these locales helped Max effortlessly bridge gospel and soul with his country roots.

THE ALCHEMY is a fresh, new, 4 piece exponent of the new breed of English Rock bands that seamlessly blend the attitude of big guitars with big samples and synths. Their debut EP 'Modern Age', produced by Paul Matthews (I Am Giant) will be released on May 9th, 2016.

SKY CATHEDRALS

‘ELYSIUM’ (FEAT. FLORENCE GLEN)

Impact Date: 18th April

Alongside other bands and projects, Mighty Kid and Paul James have created a musical style of their own using their combined multi-instrumental, songwriting and production skills. Here is ‘Elysium’, the debut single from this rousing new duo, Sky Cathedrals.

Raised in Portugal and born in North Yorkshire, folk singer/songwriter Florence Glen co-wrote the song in between recording her debut solo EP. Her vocals serve up a tender but colossal performance exploring the loss of love and perfect state of bliss in an almost cinematic style of composition, combining orchestral and contemporary musical elements underpinned by a trip hop style beat.

The production value of this piece is remarkable, incorporating sound effects and dense reverbs that create a monumental soundscape of emotion for Florence to deliver her message; the song builds throughout and culminates with a resounding chorus complete with brass section and strings, which lend themselves perfectly to the silver screen.

“It’s been a very long road in the making of our first release and we’re very excited to finally present it to the public after spending over a year creating it. We built ‘Elysium’ from the ground up, piece by piece, carefully selecting each element in order to create something we could be proud of for years to come. Our hardest task by far was finding a singer who could match the scale and emotion of the piece. After auditioning singer after singer, we finally did a demo with Florence and both agreed she had the potential to fulfill our vision, and together we sculpted the lyrics and melodies. We hope people get as much joy listening to it as we’ve had creating it.” – Sky Cathedrals

Previously Backed By BBC Introducing - BIG ZERO look to the future with single ‘Tear It Up and Start Again’

Out April 16th, it is the lead track from upcoming EP ‘Mainstream Propaganda’

Set for release on Record Store Day 2016, ‘Tear It Up and Start Again’ is the out of this world new single from technologically mindful new-waverz BIG ZERO. Released through Do Yourself In Records on a split 7” vinyl, alongside weirdo-pop legends Bis, the single will also be available to download and finds the band on typical strange territory. They've also been asked to play Are You Listening! Festival in Reading by ArtRocker, playing alongside Steve Lamacq.

Influenced by New Wave Punk Rock from the late 70s/early 80s BIG ZERO are infiltrating the latest wave of guitar bands such as Slaves, Vant, Puppy and Wolf Alice like time travellers in a Synth Punk Trojan Horse, they blend an off-kilter retro sensibility with a modern sound; their unique production is thanks to their recording technique - recording everything in a home studio, as live, onto an 8-track cassette to give them a raw feel on final release.

You can hear the results on the video here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVdg4PI-IyU

Already building a devoted cult following, BIG ZERO have so far enjoyed radio play from BBC Introducing as well as playing sold out shows at their favourite Reading underground venue.

In keeping with their symbiotic relationship with lo-tech equipment for recording, the band’s music is inspired by something of a distrust for how humans are utilizing technology in the modern age. The forthcoming digital EP ‘Mainstream Propaganda’ is all about corporate brainwashing and marketing, a modern world which BIG ZERO observes through protective goggles.

Even their videos set them apart. Referred to by the band as ‘no budget movies’, they are shot on old school VHS cameras and crammed with classic movie references from the past. While many bands treat their video clips as a tool with which to sell a song, BIG ZERO view them as a product in their own right – a separate release which happens to be soundtracked by their music. Their next collection of videos are to run like a television mini-series, mashing together influences from The Beatles movies, The Monkees and Pee Wee’s Playhouse.

In the meantime, ‘Tear It Up and Start Again’ is being readied for release on April 16th, following by the upcoming EP out in May.

Live dates:

April 23rd - Are You Listening! Festival, Reading

May 21st - Rising Sun Arts Centre in Reading,

May 27th - The Deaf Institute (playing with Bis), Manchester

June 10th - Sub89 (playing with Bis), Reading

In-Anna who is based in Glastonbury, England

Quoted as being a woman with emotional acoustic drive in her, but also a wisely constructed electro/dance club hits guru, In-Anna now returns with her new single High.
With an impressive career history already behind her including mass radio play and being judged by Phil Collins, Steven Tyler, Don Henley, Alicia Keys and Sony Music, not to mention charting on national radio in the US, it is expected you will be hearing a lot more from In-Anna following the release of her new album which is currently in the process of being recorded.

On Friday 29 April 2016 Scottish band The Mars Patrol release new single Not About You in alliance with their hotly-anticipated debut album, Human Condition.

The Mars Patrol are a 6 piece band based in Edinburgh who have been honing their stirring alternative rock sound over a series of rapturously-received EPs and singles. Having already spawned two singles, Young Lovers and Girl I Used To Know, the album will be further showcased by third single Not About You, again with an accompanying video directed by John Hardwick (Travis, Noel Gallagher, Arctic Monkeys, Jake Bugg). The outfit's new material examines fresh, untouched territory, directing listeners to interesting features, and placing themselves in sunny positions to weather winter months.

Singer Divine - who states David Bowie as a personal influence - says, "the single was inspired by Bowie's 'Lets Dance' and releasing it as our main single alongside the album is our way of showing respect to such an important creative genius".

Led by de facto bandleaders, Divine and Nelson (who wrote their first song together the very day they met in their hometown of Edinburgh), Human Condition is crammed full of songs more melodic than a spaceship full of Nightingales that stick in your head like a recurring dream you won't ever want to wake up from.

Recorded between the Capitals of both Scotland and England respectively and mixed by Tim Palmer (U2, Goo Goo Dolls) and Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, Twin Atlantic), the Album is entirely crowdfunded by The Mars Patrol's mega-loyal legion of international fans - the reward of relentless touring and maintaining enthusiastic online relationships. The band's packed, page-turning CV continues with Human Condition, a record guaranteed to uplift existing followers and seduce new listeners alike. Indeed, this collection of 11 songs marks a new dawn in the dynamic outfit's desire for sonic exploration.

BBC Radio One, Radio Scotland and pioneering Scottish DJ Jim Gellatly are all champions of the band having play-listed and reviewed previous releases. In recent times, the band have performed at T In The Park, appeared on BBC Introducing, toured the United States of America, and succeeded with two Pledge Music campaigns.
