Profound electro-pop EP ‘Circles’ from up-and-coming singer Francesco, aka 1ofUs

Up-and-coming Italian singer and songwriter, 1ofUs delivers his debut EP, CIRCLES, a stunning electropop record themed around his life’s journey.

Having attempted to pursue a career in music over two decades ago (he was signed to Warner at one point), the artist was forced to abandon his dreams after his project due to ‘reasons not pertaining to the music, regrettably, in the end, never eventuated’.

Pouring his creative energy into a career in Architecture, he opened his own studio in Frankfurt, Germany where he spent the next three years. He then moved back to Northern Italy where he continued to work for the next 20 years projecting buildings and vast urban areas across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

This long overdue EP sees the artist finally returning to music, reflecting on his experience with a newfound wisdom.

‘This is the origin of the EP title, CIRCLES,’ he explains. ‘Everything in life comes back somehow, like a circle.’

No longer young, CIRCLES nonetheless feels surprisingly fresh in sound, sporting some very flashy and modern electronic instrumentation courtesy of producers Andy Whitmore and Matt Knight. Born on the border between Italy and Slovenia, his music also contains a touch of Italian/Balkan influence. The album was recorded and produced in London. Lead single ‘Home’ takes inspiration from the November 2015 Paris bombings, reflecting on the need for home as a place of peace for oneself and for others. It is a topical and highly relatable song that proves Francesco’s musical relevance and his talents as a lyricist.

As he further explains: ‘the song touches on the difficulties of being free, of loving, of being together, and the fact that this hardship must not stop the journey towards our soul.’

A music video is in the works scheduled to be finished by mid-April.

Kungs (pronounced Koongs), a 19 years old Dj / producer also known as Valentin Brunel, started his musical career with a djembe gifted by his parents to him at the age of five.
From these early days Valentin could spend entire afternoons listening to Rock’n’Roll classics with his father. From The Who to The Kooks with many in-between, this essential listening forged the first steps to Kungs inspiration as an artist.

Discovering a passion for electronic music in his teenaged years, Kungs became infused with interest for melodic sounds and crafted timbres always lead by a dominant vocal.
By the age of seventeen his interests had evolved, and creating melodies utilising his own instruments became a passion.

Shortly after his first experiences with a digital production software, Valentin was sharing remixes across the board of online social networks.
His remix of Bob Marley - ‘Jammin’ and Lana Del Rey ft Molly - ‘West Coast’ both boast several million plays on Soundcloud & YouTube.

After a few unofficial remixes, official remixes requests were around the corner. From Axwell & Ingrosso to Lost Frequencies, Kungs quickly became a key remixer for ye other DJ producers. Kungs’s remix of « Are you with me » counts now more than 16 million views on Youtube and almost 65.000 fans are following his Soundcloud page.

Simoultaneously, many original tracks became available from Kungs. Tracks such as his collaboration with Mozambo featuring Molly - ’To Describe you’ close to instantaneously hit one million plays on Soundcloud.

With early support slots with significant acts from many aspects of the melodic house landscape such as Kygo and Klingande, Kungs has quickly formed into a well established artist in the scene today with a tendency to provide driven and impressive production and live sets.

In January 2016, Kungs will travel the European continent alongside David Guetta in order to ensure seven times the warm-up of his Listen Tour. On the music side, his last remix for the singer Julian Perretta will be release before the end of the year.

Hot on the heels of their sold out Camden Barfly Show, BBC Introducing favourite VICTORIA are proud to announce their brand new video and single Distant Nights. This stand out single is the perfect mix of uplifting indie and pop music. It’s an exciting insight into what we can expect from their debut EP of the same name on May 27th.

Hailed as ‘crisp electronic production matched to real pop nous’ by Clash, VICTORIA are ready to hit the music scene with full force with their debut EP. Their first two singles were picked up by BBC Introducing, with one being featured on E4’s Made In Chelsea. The boys recently completed a regional mini tour adding to their ever-growing fan base by the day.

VICTORIA is made up of Alex (Lead Guitar), Charlie (Keys), Chris (Drums), Harry (Bass) and Joe (Vocals). These five young guys eat, sleep, breathe and study music - skilled players, songwriters and composers. Each member has spent time honing their craft, learning instruments and writing lyrics and melodies.

Distant Nights as the title track makes a real impact. It is a perfect epitomisation of the bands strengths: great lyrics and catchy melodies you’ll be humming for days after.

Influenced by today’s musical climate, Victoria’s anthemic beats, strong vocals, rock/pop melodies and relatable lyrics have won over legions of fans already. Distant Nights EP will include previous singles Into The Wild and The Edge as part of the 5 track line up.

VICTORIA are real ones to watch this summer.

Nigerian Afrobeat singer songwriter Skinn is releasing debut LP ‘Rêves' on March 25th.

Having come a long way chasing the arts, Skinn has managed to break out of an educational cycle that made him struggle with his creative freedom. He has now reinvented himself by following his instincts and devoting his life to his art by creating some extremely captivating Afrobeat songs.

With his upcoming project ‘Rêves’, Skinn is touching upon influences from Nigerian singer songwriters such as D’banj and Wizkid while ultimately making his own very unique Afrobeat sound. His song ‘The Year’ is underpinned by an enticing, as well as melancholic mood emphasised by a powerfully moving beat and reflective lyrics.

So far, Skinn has released 2 singles off the upcoming project via his Soundcloud:
https://soundcloud.com/iammrskinn/ and was premiered on Beat FM, a radio station in Nigeria, as well as some other stations.

Also on the album is the track ‘Enemies’, a record that draws a lot upon Skinn’s social views and underground politics.
The artist explains: “My LP was hugely influenced by my emotions at the time. While I was recording the album I had a lot of high and low points. My mood was really about the place I was in. Eventually, I found my rhythm and found the strength to show my creative side.” To Skinn, recording ‘Rêves’ turned out to be a unique learning curve. The method he applied for recording was ultimately a mirror to him that reflected his life in general: “It made me find the balance as a human and as a creative. Allowing me to experiment with sounds in more than one way really showed me that there is an alternative in life I dislike the notion that there can only be one way to achieve a goal & I am the type to constantly look for the odd way out. “

The Cover Art titled ‘The dreams of peace’ was shot and photographed in Nigeria by Nigerian Photographer and Entrepreneur, Lubee Abubakar ; whose work has featured on VOGUE Italia and Published on various magazines frequently in the previous years. Working with Lubee on the Cover was special, Skinn explains; “she understood what had to be done and she did it.” The Dream of Peace photo series can be viewed here – http://revesdepaix.tumblr.com/

Still at the early stages of his career, Skinn’s music has already been well received among the Nigerian online community and radio stations in Nigeria.  Skinn has already shared stages with well-known names in the Afro-beat scene ranging from Fuse ODG to Sean Tizzle and Wande Coal.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Skinn’s childhood was quite uncommon. He moved from Lagos to Abuja the Nigerian capital whilst attaining O’level education at a military school. Co-incidentally this was the same school that Afrobeat artist D’banj had attended in the past. Having an exceptionally hard time at the military school, Skinn remembers: “Whilst I was there I was bought my first music CD by Chamillionaire and that settled it. I decided to be an entertainer.”  The singer eventually moved to South East England where he finally stepped into the zone of almost complete creative freedom… except you have Nigerian parents.. It wasn’t as bad Skinn says “Before I started making music professionally. I would always stay up all night recording music off my phone and the next day I’ll get a noise caution from dad and that was it. Right now, although it’s hard for them take art as more than just leisure, they can understand and support me. I guess you can say I always tried as much I could to do what I wanted."

He is now tirelessly working with RDP, the creative collective behind the project. His determination and work ethic has certainly helped him develop his sound and contributed to the fact that he has managed to perfect both his song writing and his creative process. Skinn will prove to be an all-rounder when it comes to the creation of great songs.

The Album ‘Reves’ is out on 25th March 2016

The debut single from Ffi will have you dancing, smiling and leave your heart pulsing! It is a masterclass in song-writing, musicianship and production. This is a song you cannot forget, and like the album to follow, it’s going to be a hit.

Born in Cardiff and adopted at 3 months old, Ffi was introduced to the piano at the age of 5 by her mother. Quickly learning to play by ear, she began writing her first songs at a very early age. Realising her obvious natural gift, her parents enrolled her in formal lessons and she was classically trained on both the piano and violin. She then progressed on to the saxophone and then the drums at the age of 10.

Despite having all this talent, Ffi was still essentially a grounded welsh tomboy. Wanting to find her voice she sang in chapel and at school, only to be told to sing quieter because her vice was so loud and deep! Thankfully, this never put her off and she took to singing just like all the other instruments presented to her.

At 14, she got a part on a Welsh TV drama and pursued a successful acting career appearing in a variety of dramas on TV and stage before progressing on to national and beyond. Her screen CV boasts playing the daughter of the late, great Philip Madoc in the hugely popular ‘A Mind To Kill’, along with roles in ‘Doctors’ and ‘Torchwood’.

Whilst being an actress, she continued to study her first love, music and went to Goldsmith’s College, University of London, and it was there that she started to work and perform with some of the biggest names in the business.

Ffi’s debut album features a stellar cast of musicians like no other, with guys who have graced the stage and studio with the likes of Peter Gabriel, Elvis Costello, Paulo Nutini, Barbara Streisand , Robbie Williams, Jamiroquai, Rod Stewart, Tina Turner, Eric Clapton, Ray Charles and Sir Tom Jones, to name but a few.

These guys have described her as ‘a serious vocal talent, and the music as ‘very slick, great melodies and lovely production’. Now take a listen and hear it for yourselves……
