Daystar who are based in Manchester, England.
Described as having a sound loosely adhering to a Northern honesty and with Clint Boon from Inspiral Carpets being a big fan of the band, not to mention having a drummer heavily influenced by The Who’s Keith Moon, it is no wonder Daystar are creating a huge stir on the Northern music scene in the UK.
Through the buzz being gained about their music, the band have found many high profile supporters including Janice Long and Gary Crowley from BBC Radio, and Ed O’ Brien from Radiohead to name but a few. The exposure they have received has now seen them being played on a large number of national and independent radio stations, resulting in them being offered support slots for the likes of Feeder, The Rifles and The Twang on their UK tours. On top of this, they have been included in the Manchester City FC official magazine, and the Manchester United match day programme.
Daystar’s new self titled album touches upon subjects such as living, dying, growing up, loss, love and escapism’ and is now available to purchase. Details on this plus recently announced gig dates can be found on their website www.daystarband.com and www.facebook.com/daystarmanchester

Mr Shiraz

After being away rocking the free world Mr Shiraz return with a slim downed line-up and massive new sound that has been tearing down walls around the UK and Europe with the video for 'Built In Sin' already made video of the week by Pure Rawk and putting the band in for a live session by BBC Introducing Leeds the album is set to propel Mr Shiraz to a new level

"Fun loving, booze guzzling, hotel trashing......The Mr Shiraz juggernaut brings the finest in rock, funk, metal and punk!" - Metal Hammer

"Let's be honest, Mr Shiraz are pretty much the UK's equivalent to Faith No More. Shiraz take no prisoners and prove themselves to be a band that should be a lot bigger than they are! HTF APPROVE!!" - Hit The Floor Magazine

‘In the current climate of identikit hair and tight black clothes, Mr Shiraz are a breath of fresh air. This could very much be their time.’ - Big Cheese Magazine
Mr.Shiraz has been hard at work since 2005, having been crowned champions at the prestigious Mean Fiddler/Futuresound tournament and went on to play at the illustrious Carling Festival weekend to a packed, enthusiastic audience. The success of the show was evident when they were once again asked back to play the following year.
Shortly after Mr.Shiraz were in heavy demand again with European tours including festivals across Belgium, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic and many more. Soon after the album was launched, the band received airplay across Europe (including Radio 1’s “Punk Show” & Xfm) and magazines such as Metal Hammer, Big Cheese & Kerrang! were soon giving Mr.Shiraz glowing reviews for their adrenaline fueled live shows. Which also led the band on an extensive 6 week tour of the USA.
2011 saw a very different sounding Mr.Shiraz. The band ditched their ska/punk image and recorded a very different and personal self titled album a very much more mature and driven sound that has had reviewers of their live shows comparing the new “Mr.Shiraz” to that of The Bronx, Faith No More & Rage Against the Machine.

Between Falls

Between Falls was formed in late 2012, and already caught the ears of rock lovers around the world.

Their short history started when Vic Zislin, songwriter and guitarist, gathered with his three friends, Ilana Winter (vocals), James L. Woodward (vocals and guitars) and Idan Shinberg (Bass) from their former group Sixth Sense, and together they decided to revive their muse and set on a new musical journey, naming the project Between Falls.

Their debut album, “Intimate Getaway”, is due to be released towards the end of 2013.
Description
Between Falls is an alternative rock and post grunge band. The inspiration of the group is ascribed to Seattle of the early 90's. The vibes of bands such as Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice In Chains, with their hard rock riffs and charismatic singing, are all over the music of Between Falls. Alternative and progressive rock, as well as more recent post-grunge and nu-metal styles have also made agreat impact on the band's sound.

In their repertoire you'll hear melodic ballads that perfectly accord with high pace and edgy tunes, the sounds of acoustic guitar harmonize with the dirty distortion sound, the gloomy and sad but also meaningful lyrics that fill you with hope and love.

Aside the influential variety of the band, their two lead singers, male & female, offer an even greater diversity in the emotions that arise when listening to Between Falls' music.

"We were born during the 80's, raised on the 90's, grown aside the tunes of the early 2000's and finally reached the enormous variety of styles and sounds of nowadays. The mixture of all these eras is what we see in our group

Gerard & the Watchmen

Rising stars of the UK’s Alternative Folk Scene ‘Gerard & the Watchmen’ will be touring
the UK this February to celebrate the completion of their six month ‘song a week’
challenge.

The band have toured extensively throughout the UK with 2012 highlights including;
Cambridge Folk Festival, Peace and Love Festival (In Sweden), Secret Garden Party,
Communion records, Moselely Folk Festival, Elgar room at the Royal Albert Hall and a Folk
Radio UK Live Session.

Quotes:

The Wireless “Usurping the standard folk formula and carving a niche of their own, Dave Gerard
and the Watchmen have a habit of grabbing whatever instrument comes to hand — be it guitar,
banjo, mandolin, upright bass, harp… — retuning it and going from there. With rich harmonies
meeting melody full on, Gerard and the Watchmen could be the next alt folk heros.”

Mary Anne Hobbs XFM - “We’ll be hearing a lot more of them, absolutely Beautiful”

Folk Radio UK “Gerard and the Watchmen rank amongst our favourite bands that we play on Folk
Radio UK. Their vocals and harmonies are of the finest out there and the enhanced layering of
guitar, upright bass, percussion and violin form the perfect match. They don’t get much better
than this!”
