NELL BRYDEN ANNOUNCES NEW SINGLE AND ALBUM – “WAYFARER”
“Wayfarer” – new album, release date 28th July
“Wayfarer” – new single, impact date 4th August
Released on157 Records / Absolute / Universal
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Following the enormous success of her last single “All You Had”, (her most successful single ever at radio) Nell’s third album “Wayfarer” will be released on 8th August, accompanied by the radio single of the same name.
Like its predecessor, “Wayfarer” finds Nell continuing her creative journey further into the world of rhythmic and electronic pop. Stylistically, “Wayfarer” is inspired by Fleetwood Mac, but with Nell’s soaring vocals reminiscent of classic Annie Lennox in her “Diva” heyday. It was written with “All You Had” co-writer Dario Darnell and new and hotly tipped songwriter Dave Gibson, and produced by Dario Darnell and Lorne Ashley Brigham Bowes (AKA Bicker Bros).
After 18 months promoting and touring her second album “Shake The Tree”, Nell has spent the last year writing and experimenting with her songwriting and music, and finally settled on a stylistic direction for her next album in autumn 2013. Whittling down 25 demos to a dozen songs, and encouraged by the reception of “All You Had” at radio, Nell worked largely with Bicker Bros to craft a new sound for the album, combining electronic beats with live instruments and her trademark Gibson guitar. In between album writing and production duties, Nell has kept doing what she does best, playing live.
In the last two years she’s performed 110 shows in UK, Europe and USA, most recently supporting Gipsy Kings on their Europe and UK tour, including her fourth performance at Royal Albert Hall, London, in a little over a year.
Nell also supported Gary Barlow on his first major solo UK tour for over a decade in 2012/13, and has been the support artist on major tours with Jools Holland, Chris Rea and Duane Eddy, alongside high profile Festival performances such as V Festival, Cornbury, Hyde Park, Guilfest and Bluesfest.
Nell will be doing a short tour in May to support the new album release, then some festivals over the summer, ahead of a longer autumn headline tour around a new single. Confirmed May and Festival dates will be circulated in due course.
Nell is also getting recognition for her talents as a songwriter, with her song “Sirens” being picked up by Cher for her latest album, “Closer to the Truth”, with Cher stating on many occasions that it was her favourite song on the album and one of her best ever vocal performances.
And if all that wasn't enough, in January Nell announced her marriage to her British boyfriend.
Expect Downton Abbey inspired wedding photos in the summer!

In 1999, ABC took a risk airing the very first reality television show in major network history, producing the hit show “Making the Band” and the vocal group that followed, “O-Town”. The show chronicled the formation, and their rise to success, as the group became the first signature by Clive Davis to his label J Records. They went on to release two full-length albums including two #1 hit songs “Liquid Dreams” and “All or Nothing” becoming nominated for the American Music Awards “Song of the Year”. The show spent two seasons on ABC before moving to MTV to continue following the guys as their radio success allowed them to tour the world bringing the cameras, and the fans, along for the ride.
O-Town continued strong until 2003 when industry began experiencing dramatic changes, and one figure involved in the contract (Lou Pearlman) was being investigated (and later convicted) for embezzling more than $300 million through his different business ventures/ponzi schemes. With Lou’s lingering court battles, the enormity of the contract and the parties involved became too much for the band to sustain. “We really had little choice but to close up shop at that point.” Jacob explains. “We learned so much during those 4 years, but it was obvious the time had come to walk away hoping one day we could do it again one day, differently.”
So what’s happened since 2003?
- Dan got married to his high school sweetheart, Erin, shortly after the group disbanded, and they now have a son, Major. After several years of production work for the songwriting team, The Clutch, Dan decided to step away from music. In 2013 he graduated college with a degree in graphic design, which allows him the enjoyment of being a stay-at-home dad.
- Jacob got a degree in Business Management with a concentration in marketing/advertising, and branched into the Nashville scene continuing to perform, and make music. While there he worked at Blackbird Studios for Korby Audio, building hand made custom microphones for artists like Jack White, John Legend, Martina McBride and many more..
- Erik moved to Los Angeles and began directing music videos, sizzle reels, and producing American reality television. As a songwriter, Erik has collaborated with artists like Flo rida, Kevin Rudolf, Juicy J and Three Six Mafia. He recently found himself again playing in front of the lens having just recently secured the starring role in his third independent film in the past two years.
- Trevor continued his love of performing and being on stage in many ways. Upon arriving in Los Angeles, Trevor immediately started taking acting classes leading to roles in a few short films. Shortly after, Trevor joined the West Coast Music Company, where he performed at high-end events across the country. On the weekends, he has built quite a reputation as a professional host for multiple production scenarios, from weddings to corporate events.
Why Now?
Dan - “It’s an exciting new chapter for O-Town, and we are grateful to be able share with our fans. Social media didn’t really exist our first go-around. It will allow us a whole new way to connect to our fans we didn’t have before. It’s going to be awesome.”
Trevor – “It’s so amazing that this opportunity has come again. Last time we were building this friendship, and now the foundation is laid. I can’t wait to experience this with my boys again, and finally give our fans some new music!”
Erik - ""Writing and collaborating again with the fellas on this project is so remarkably different then anything we have attempted to do in the past. We are only doing this now because we all sincerely want to. It's exciting to hear the music starting to really reflect that."
Jacob - “It’s all about relationships. Our friendship has only grown stronger, but it’s our business relationships that worried us after what we’d been through. We have great people around us right now, and making music with the guys today has never been more fun.“
After a crash course in the entertainment industry by their early twenties, the guys had enjoyed branching off into different facets of the entertainment business. They admit the experience left them with a desire to become more educated, seeing first hand how incredibly complicated (and sometimes corrupt) the industry can be. And now, after 10 years apart, they are reuniting as friends with a renewed passion for making music together again. They are integrating their individual life experiences to produce something special. And their sentiment is simple…
“This one’s for the fans and everyone who supported us in the beginning. We are showing appreciation for everything they’ve given us, and for the reason we all came together if the first place. O-Town.”
“I remember a friend attending USC law school and calling me after a class telling me an old lawyer of ours was there teaching our contract as one of the most complicated contracts he’s scene in his 40 plus years in the business. “ Jacob
