This is a new track from Rupert Stroud's new "Way Back Home" e.p. which is released on September 29th 2014.
Having been compared to Richard Ashcroft, Jim Morrison and Nick Cave with a hint of Elbow, Stroud has attracted attention from BBC Introducing / BBC 6Music (Tom Robinson) + BBC Radio 2 (Dermot O’Leary show), XFM Radio, BFBS and Radio 2.
Rupert’s working with eminent British producer Will Jackson (The Kaiser Chiefs, Embrace, The Cribs). It was his work with Will that produced Rupert’s second album “Chasing The Night”.
This was a breakthrough project for Rupert and saw him dubbed as one of Yorkshire's hottest young artists.
“Chasing The Night” took the internet by storm receiving rave reviews with online press and magazines.

The plaudits kept coming and they soon saw Rupert performing with his band on the festival circuit sharing the stage with artists such as James Blunt (opening the show in June at Dalby Forest N. Yorkshire) George Ezra, The Hoosiers, ASH, Catfish and The Bottlemen, Ocean Colour Scene, Chris Helme (Seahorses) and Benjamin Francis Leftwich.
Rupert’s career has gone from strength to strength and his most recent releases “Never Back Down” and “Morning Light” have caught the ears of national radio, receiving radio play and plaudits from the likes of BBC Radio 2's Dermot O'Leary, Whispering Bob Harris, BBC introducing and 6 Music's Tom Robinson, XFM and BFBS Radio.
This led to Rupert and the band being invited by BBC Radio London for a live session and interview. Also following the addition of “Morning Light” to the A Playlist at BFBS Radio, Rupert was invited down to BFBS Radio studios for a special feature interview and session.
His music video for “Never Back Down” won “People’s Choice Award 2013” at The 27th Leeds International Film Festival.
As a “Champion Spokesperson” for Alzheimer’s Research UK, a cause close to his heart, Rupert has raised over £6000 to date through various campaigns and events including his charity single “Always”. The single was written in memory of his grandmother who suffered with Alzheimer’s.
As a media spokesperson for the charity, Rupert was recently interviewed by The Guardian newspaper talking about the tragedy of the illness and why he became involved. Rupert was also interviewed on Al Jazeera International News programme “Inside Story”, where the video for his charity single “Always” was broadcast.
Rupert is back in the studio with Will Jackson working on his third album due for release later in 2014.

Alternative electronic sensation Milky Chance announce new single ‘Down By The River’ will be released 27th October through Ignition Records. After performing at Reading and Leeds 2014 they headlined a SOLD OUT Koko show on the Tuesday 26th August.
Milky Chance’s rise to music’s upper echelons has been unstoppable. Last year in their tiny self-built studio the duo cut their full-length debut ‘Sadnecessary’ and last summer they released it on their own Lichtdicht Records in Europe. With a reputation for energetic live shows and a vast global social media following, Under A Banner are band building a fresh, poetic and dynamic approach to alternative, hard rock and folk.
Their new album, Close to the Clouds, fuses the rhythmical strength of bands as varied as New Model Army, Tool and The Manic Street Preachers with the quirks and polyphonies found in genres from 70s prog rock to old-school heavy metal to European folk traditions.
"I have finally found the band and lineup I have always wished for." Adam Broadhurst proudly proclaims. "The latest album is the culmination of many years of writing and an even greater number of years of listening to the most forthright and loved of alternative and folk rock music this world has given us."
Adam's passion is reciprocated by the whole band. Drummer Tim Wilson goes on to explain, "what makes Under A Banner really special is the endearing dynamism found in Adam as a singer-songwriter combined with a band pushing the music in many different directions."
This can be heard in the production of the new album. In addition to the usual sounds you hear from a rock band, you will find some tabla and other assorted world percussion, electronics and samples, a cittern, a plethora of vocal harmonies and as Tim wryly indicates, "some very dirty organ!".
Such variety is also to be found in the lyrics drawing from a wide pool of lyrical influences from the likes of Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos, Nick Drake right through to the poetry of Tennyson, Shelley, Coleridge and Pablo Neruda.
"We wanted the album to steer the listener, hungry for musical passion, away from the staples of 'boy-meets-girl' and 'what goes on in my head' and back towards opposing all that is objectionable and offensive to reason in today's world."
Close to the Clouds invokes the shared passion of the original Romantics from a search for the sublime to a quest for 'real' experiences in a world made smaller yet and colder more confusing by the onslaught of technology. Song themes include mountain climbing, celebrity culture, personal salvation, death, religious festivals and motorbikes.
The band will take the album's songs on a wide UK and European Tour throughout the rest of 2014 and into 2015, promising to entertain audiences with bags of energy and drive as reflected in the 13 songs that Close to the Clouds has to offer.

Indie Bennett is older than his years. It's a bit of a hackneyed expression, but in this case it's very true - everything from his lyrical content, to song structure and feel, to the sheer acrobatics in his vocals belie his actual age. The songs on 'Replicate The Mysteries, Discover The Truth' sound more like a mixture of soulfulness and self-aware confidence that twenty years making music will bring, let alone about that long being alive. A sparse and simple style helps to highlight and bring focus to the reflective mood on Indie's debut EP, as well as doing credit to a voice that Indie's put through as much musical education as he can lay his hand on. He certainly makes a good case for any aspiring vocalists who aren't sure whether they can learn anything by pursuing learning more about how to use their voice.
