The film captures the band giving a seminal performances in the nations Capital. West End glamour meets northern swagger in a melting pot of funk and soul in 100 degree heat!

I believe that we are on the edge of a hybrid soul/northern soul explosion. I think it will, for want of a better word, be the new punk. Its the perfect conduit to express feelings of frustration anger and passion. The Winachi Tribes tune fits into the picture perfectly. Bring it on!
Keith Allen

"They are such a great band, they blew my head off when I first heard their music. They have so many angles, sort of a funk revolving door, they are definitely special in their own inimitable style."

Louder Than War

'The Time for Love' EP will have you grooving and moving your feet. In a day and age when the top 40 is made up of pop music by numbers the electro-funk groove which runs through these tracks is a beautiful remedy to the boredom. Lola in Slacks

Debut download single- ‘Tramlines’

Release date August 31st2015

Stereogram Recordings

Press Release

Lola in Slacks perform with very special guest Roy Moller - Single Release Soirée- CCA, Glasgow, Friday 28th August. Tickets available here

Fronted by spellbinding chanteuse Lou Reid, Lola in Slacks exude the sexy garage swagger of the Velvet Underground spiked with the bold confidence and freedom of Tim Buckley. There's an acute sense of mystery around this ambitious, literate gang of Francophile bohemians, who have made an instant impact with a series of heart-stopping performances around their home town of Glasgow.

Having developed her distinctive vocal and performance style busking on the streets of Paris as a raw 19 year-old, Lou Reid casts a powerful glamour. A classic torch singer for the modern age, Reid brings a Piaf-like authority to the group’s Noir atmospherics and superior song-writing. Radiating an effortless cool, the singer evokes comparisons with Marianne Faithfull, Nick Cave and Jacques Brel in the songs she co-writes with guitarist Brian McFie. Inspired by the exhilarating Stooges guitarist James Williamson and the great soul player Teenie Hodges, McFie is equally adept at garage grind and spiralling melody.

Lesley McLaren has an established reputation as a great rock & roll drummer in her own right, while bassist Davy Irvin supplies a weighty undertow with the taste and precision of ‘Wrecking Crew’ legend Carol Kaye. Martin Stuart Taggart broadens out the band’s wide-screen sound with edgy, creative guitar, while Villy Karagouni is the group’s secret weapon, a classically-trained pianist who adds a whole new dimension to the band’s sensual fusillade.

Debut single ‘Tramlines’ is released on August 31st on Stereogram Recordings. 'Tramlines' draws the listener into a dramatic world of dark, shimmering beauty, illuminated by tantalising shafts of sunlight. Reid's gift for imagery is readily apparent as she conjures sepia-tinged scenes wrenched from buried memories. An instantly addictive entry into Lola in Slacks’s bohemian netherworld, ‘Tramlines’ was recorded with award-winning producer Sandy Jones at Foundry Music Lab in Motherwell.

This is no average group. They understand that sometimes you have to pay for love with bitter tears. When Lou Reid sings, it's a way of escaping, it's another world; she's no longer on Earth. Intimate and imperious in equal measure, Lola in Slacks are poised to become everyone's new favourite band.

“Possessing a diffident grace, ‘Tramlines’ is an elegiac triumph” Nina Antonia, celebrated underground rock & roll writer and biographer of Johnny Thunders, New York Dolls and Peter Perrett.

“’Tramlines’ is a stunning debut single…Lola in Slacks are the most original group I’ve heard in years. With its perfect blend of pop hooks and underground allure, ‘Tramlines’ deserves to be a massive hit.” Billy Sloan, legendary Glasgow music journalist and broadcaster.

“Reminds me of a less ravaged Marianne Faithfull, circa ‘Broken English’. Lovely atmospheric sense of place and yearning.” Tom Morton, broadcaster and journalist.

“I really like this track, kinda like Marianne Faithfull fronting the Velvets.” Douglas MacIntyre, Head of The Creeping Bent Organisation record label and bass-player with The Sexual Objects.

“’Tramlines’ is a song full of so much wistful longing that it hurts. The evocative lyrics paint a vivid picture and the smoky vocals of chanteuse Lou Reid have just the right hint of attitude masking a world weary sadness. Dark, intriguing and totally intoxicating.”  Avril Cadden, freelance writer (formerly music features writer at Sunday Mail/Daily Record).

Lowell ft. Icona Pop ‘Ride’

Streaming Date: 21st August

Impact Date: 16th October

Available on August 21st, ‘Ride’ will be released through Interland Music / Sony Red. The track is an emphatic feminist pop anthem about rebellion and empowerment, whilst remaining youthful and carefree.

The track pays homage to the Van Buren sisters and their iconic motorcycle road trip across the US in 1916. As the first women to cross the US by motorcycle alone, the Van Buren sisters’ trek was as much a political statement as an act of gender defiance.

Acting as part of The Preparedness Movement, Gussie and Addie (22 and 24) used the trip to prove that women could ride just as well as their male counterparts, and subsequently were granted permission to serve as dispatch riders during World War 1.

A classically trained musician who also suffers from a rare neurological condition known as synesthesia, Lowell released her debut album, ‘We Loved Her Dearly’, earlier this year impressing fans and critics alike with her bold blend of pop.

“A technicolour slice of playful, experimental pop in the vein of Santigold, Toronto musician Lowell’s debut is one of the month’s most exuberant.” – NME

"Canadian pop songstress who writes hits like one makes tea – effortlessly and often" – i-D

“Childlike wonder” – The Observer

“Finest Electropop” – Evening Standard

“Bold, celebratory electro pop packed with attitude” – The Independent

"We Loved Her Dearly – a "completely autobiographical" 12-song set packed with irresistible pop hooks, dreamy synth textures and pointed feminist commentary." - Rolling Stone

"Lowell makes user-friendly, irresistible pop music from an expressly feminist perspective, and she wields many tools to do it. If she's rebellious, then she's the world's first freedom fighter to come armed with pom-poms." – NPR Music

KLEIV who are based in Oslo, Norway.

Despite being relatively new to the music scene, KLEIV have seen their new track Sweetest Sound downloaded all over the world following a number of positive reviews.
Described as being summer inspired easy listening Pop music, you can find out more about KLEIV by visiting their website www.facebook.com/kleivmusic

Memories of A Fisherman is the thought provoking debut single from music collective, Ticking Tree.  The track is nostalgic, melodious and refreshingly optimistic.  Songwriter Adman was inspired to pen the track by why he describes as, "the fundamental inadequacy of words"; we may feel a very specific, almost tangible emotion, be it joy or pain, but can never completely convey that in words, just as a fisherman can never properly express to others the feeling they experience when they make their "catch of the day".  The song leaves us with the question, "Is impression to be deemed more accurate than reality?"

Ticking Tree is an abundantly talented collective, comprised of musicians with enviable CV's.  The group's guitarist has played with artists including One Direction, The Overtones and Jams Morrisons, and the bassist has played with the likes of Take That, Kwabs and Afrobeat Master Dele Sosimi.  The resulting sound is a polished yet fresh resonance with a sunny sense of hopefulness.   The group was named around the concept of a natural object, the collective themselves, who are ever developing and aspiring to reach their next branch of growth, always with a sense of anticipation , something incredible about to happen.

Recorded and produced at The Power House, Metropolis, London, Memories of A Fisherman due for release on 28th August 2015 on the forthcoming "Butterfly Wings" EP on M:89 Records.

Rel: 28 Aug 2015 on M:89 Records

Following the Top 10 dance smashes, star of the stage and screen K-Syran, releases her track, the contemplative and pace "You Don't Love Me Anymore" on 7 August.  Performing at festivals across the UK and Europe, with an album in the pipeline and UK tour planned for later this year, K-Syran is continuing her reign as Norway's "siren of dance".

Norwegian born K-Syran is a singer-songwriter who has received acclaim for her acting achievements on stage and screen, including "Voyage in the Dark" at the Young Vic.  However, her tender vocals always got her noticed and singing in each of her productions.  With a fusion of Classical, pop, rock and jazz and techno influences together to create her distinctly unique sound.  K-Syran nurtured her voice as lead vocalist for a number of groups, but it is as a solo artist that she is enjoying the greatest success.

Her new single, "You Don't Love Me Anymore" conveys a message we can all relate to, when we finally realise that a love, that has truly got under our skin, has become to an end. and all the emotion that we feel at that moment.   The  sadness and reflection  that this evokes are all brought  to bear in the power of the track.  The thought-provoking lyrics are set over a catchy backing, with a building  sense of anticipation, which adds pathos and dynamics.

Running parallel to her catapulting music success, K-Syran has also made considerable waves on the global arts and humanitarian scene.  Earlier this year, she took her own play, "Breaking The Silence' to NewYork.  The play was nominated "Best Play" at the global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict  organised by Angelinia Jolie and William Hague.  K-Syran is also raising much needed awareness for Human Rights Watch through her work.

The New single, "You Don't Love Me Anymore" is released on 7 August on M:89 Records

Hightail D/L: https://www.hightail.com/download/bXBZYlJRQ3Q1bmdsYzhUQw

Get ready to turn this one up LOUD!! Trigga and Chimpo have teamed up to create this absolute BANGER that is already getting support at Beats1, Radio 1 and 1Xtra! SBTV premiered the video and Pigeons & Planes, MTV and The Grime Report have all been getting behind the track too, so you know its something special, plus when JME heard the record he tweeted his love for it straight away https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4mrq8QVGEI

Released via Toddla T’s ‘Girls Music’ label, the track is a dirty, hard-hitting three strike combination of Grime, Crunk and Dancehall making for something very dark, yet utterly compelling – the essence of the Shadow sound.

Trigga represents everything that makes Manchester, and the UK Underground, famous worldwide. Raised in the streets of Moss Side in the 90’s, Trigga survived those infamous years (although not without some famous scars) and has lived to put a timeless stamp on British dance music from featuring on classic tape packs to performing in legendary raves through to collaborating with the likes of Skepta, Spyda and Flowdance on 'In A Corner' to recent work with Zed Bias. Add Chimpo to the mix and you get a track full of flows, depth and one mucky baseline

The Floating Bridges

LIVE FOREVER is the second solo album from West Country based singer/songwriter Ken Lintern. All tracks are performed and produced by him at his Kewstoke music complex 13 Sound studios. This album all lyrics are by Martin Sheridan from Yorkshire of Irish descent.

LILAC HAZE the debut album from The Cosmic Trippers, Ambient/Psychedelic/Instrumental album. A luxurious soundscape interweaved with beautiful melodic keyboard work and soaring guitars, the ultimate late night de-stressing album.

The track included is Fortitude (radio edit mp3). From the waves lapping the beach to the stunning guitar work a truly different track in todays market.

Calling Apollo, a Cardiff based rock band consisting of 5 members:

Christian James Neale - Vocals

Dan Hughes – Guitars

Luke Walters – Bass

Zak Woolf – Drums

The EP was recorded at Longwave Studio with Romesh Dodangoda who has worked with the likes of rock bands Funeral for a Friend and Bullet for my Valentine.

Damien J Brennan was born and raised in County Down, Northern Ireland. He learned to play the guitar and began busking whilst backpacking through Italy and Australia. Shortly after his return home he began songwriting and on a limited budget recorded some garage demos. These initial recordings received positive feedback and a glowing review from critically acclaimed mastering engineer Pete Maher (U2, Snow Patrol, Katy Perry, Hudson Taylor).

Damien recorded his first professional tracks in Zero Hour Studios and these songs led to gigs locally and in London. They were also picked up for radio play on Tom Robinson's BBC Radio 6 show and Baylen Leonard and Aaron Philips on Amazing Radio, together with a number of regional UK stations. Tony Moore of Soho Radio invited Damien to sing live on his show and to appear live at London's Bedford this August.

The future is looking very promising for this up and coming Irish talent.

"Damien is a gifted and super talented singer/songwriter with the potential for great success! Up there with the best!"
Pete Maher, Mastering Engineer for U2, The Killers, Liam Gallagher, The Rolling Stones, Jack White, Scissor Sisters, Depeche Mode and Katy Perry

"Spinetingingly good, astonishing, absolutely astonishing... That sounds like a major hit to me, the  UK needs to hear this, the world needs to hear this... your live voice has a unique quality..."

Lions & Butterflies’

Released 2nd October 2015

Single ‘Walls of Silence’ – available 4th September 2015

Song: https://soundcloud.com/ldpromos/walls-of-silence-radio-edit/s-rdDjs

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e19C7bOO0r0

The highly anticipated new album from the independent alternative folk band follows hot on the heels of their recent wowing of the crowds at Glastonbury, for the fourth consecutive year, and their growing army of fans and admirers will not be disappointed. ‘Lions & Butterflies’ is beautifully written, performed, sung and produced.

The husband and wife duo of Jeremy and Lorraine Millington, from Bristol and Galway respectively have been on a decade long journey that has seen them release 5 previous albums, hone their song-writing style and performances and arrive at this juncture with what many believe, including themselves, to be their masterpiece.

“This is the strongest music I’ve heard from The Portraits to date. It’s always gratifying when musicians you meet and like turn out to make excellent music”

 – Tom Robinson 6 Music

After persuading his parents to invest in a piano for him at the age of 10, Jeremy began a lifelong relationship with the instrument. The son of a diplomat he travelled to destinations all over the world spending his childhood in various parts of AfricaEurope and Asia. The family finally settled in Bristolwhere Jeremy studied music to the highest level and decided to take up a career in teaching. His first posting led him to the Isle of Wight where he met Lorraine……

Lorraine grew up in rural Western Ireland and was drawn to the guitar at a very young age, teaching herself and performing traditional Irish songs at family events and pubs. She went on to study Fine Art at the University of Ulster in Belfast, during the worst of Northern Ireland’s struggles when police helicopters roared overhead and taxi drivers were murdered outside her bedroom window. After completing her degree she took up her first job as a teacher.

“A wonderful band” – Lembit Opik

And so this dynamic pairing came together. Inspired by his travels throughout the world and her personal experiences of the tragedies of war they formed a partnership both in love and in music that would prove formidable. Setting up home in France they would write together in their farmhouse, planning their future and performing in the café’s and parks of the region. As their reputation and crowds grew, the sudden death of Jeremy’s father and the birth of their two children led the couple back across the Channel to London where they were to take the music scene by storm.

“This new album is a heartfelt musical snapshot of who we are”

Lorraine

They have amassed a loyal fan base by performing at festivals and venues across EnglandIreland and France, winning new fans wherever they travel with their clever, melodic music, both memorable and personal. These songs are about real people, real situations, and real life.
