Info -

Ellesmere Port. Home of the Vauxhall Astra, oil refineries, and now of Oranj Son, one of the most exciting and talked-about bands to emerge from the North West of England in 2015.

Comprising Kieran Linford (guitar, vocals), Lew Yii (percussion), Brad Welch (bass) and Matt Linford (keys, guitar), their brand of infectious and hypnotic groove-laden rock brings to mind classic East and West Coast US Psychedelia, Northern European Electro and 80's Post Punk - influences they wear as proudly as Phil Daniels wears his parka.

Music is about to get interesting again....
Kireran Linford, Vocals

"Working with Oranj Son on their debut single, has been a wonderful creative journey."
Carl Hunter, Producer

Alpha Shallows are an Indie Rock band from Leeds/Wakefield who formed in March 2014. This collective came together having all performed in a number of bands across different genres. Bassist Gary infuses a punk/synth feel whilst drummer Ben comes to the band from a metal background, performing with the Boneyard Babies. Vocalist Ken and guitarist Joicey have enjoyed a very productive songwriting partnership for several years.

The band's diverse list of influences have led their music down a dark and gritty path. The intriguing vocals of storyteller Ken combined with the band's strong image enhance the atmosphere created by their music and these elements have combined to produce a superb debut EP 'Set the Fires', recorded at Greenmount Studios with Jamie Lockhart.

Since their inception Alpha Shallows have enjoyed extensive support. They've been invited to play gigs across their home county of Yorkshire, including the highly respected Long Division Festival in Wakefield (2014). Photographer Ed Fielding, who has previously worked closely with Paloma Faith and Gary Numan, has provided the photographs and artwork for the EP. Three of the tracks on 'Set the Fires' have already been championed by BBC Introducing in North and West Yorkshire and the full EP is available to stream on Soundcloud.

The Band:
Vocals - Craig "Ken" Walker
Guitar - Paul "Joicey" Joice
Bass - Gary Hargreaves
Drums - Ben Hewitt

Ships Have Sailed
Moodswings
22 January 2016
Lead Tracks: 'If Only', 'Drive', 'Boomerang' and 'Out of Time'

Ships Have Sailed, an alternative pop-rock duo hailing from Los Angeles, debuted their first EP 'Someday' in 2014, gaining extensive airplay on College, NPR, and commercial radio in the US and Canada. The EP's success inspired the band to tour the East Coast, during which time they began piecing together their first full-length album, 'Moodswings'.

The LP veers away from todays single-driven musical climate with a well-rounded, full-length story intended to be heard from the beginning to the end. The theme of the record echoes the bands name, a positive spin on the phrase That ship has sailed, and meditates on changes ability to impact ones life at any moment.

Ships Have Sailed have recently had a track called 'Midnight' included in the feature film, BRAND: A Second Coming. This summer has also seen them playing showcases at 2015s SXSW and Canadian Music Week.

" Electro Pop-Rock trio Ships Have Sailed may be your favorite new discovery... featuring a few of our favorite things: hard-hitting beats, angsty male vocals, and bubbling electronic flares.
BlackBook

Complete with bombastic drums, an epic guitar solo, and just-rugged-enough vocals, it's a massive tune that'll have you keeping it on repeat.
