My Youth to release their debut EP, the first in a series of three releases this year.
(London, 27th May 2013) Following the release of their first single ‘Young Love’ , My Youth is ex- cited to announce the release of their debut EP titled ONE, which wil be available worldwide on June 24th 2013. The success of ‘Young Love’, which was used by Happy Socks in their 2012 online advert, encouraged My Youth to expand their line up and further the band’s sound. The next step for My Youth included the release of two live sessions, which helped build a strong online fan base and led to an endorsement from Roland.
ONE was recorded and mixed by Adie Hardy (Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Gus Dudgeon) at Unit 2 Studios London. With Hardy’s help and guidance the band have created these songs that stand out individually but also compliment each other collectively.
My Youth has a unique blend of nationalities, originating from South America, Scandinavia and Great Britain. Their different backgrounds and upbringings have shaped their original sound, led by a mix of male and female vocals that immediately embraces the listener. Despite their different backgrounds, their musical influences are not so far apart. These include the likes of The National, Bon Iver, Arcade Fire and Fleetwood Mac among others.
Alongside their EP release, My Youth has numerous London dates confirmed and has plans to take their live shows nationwide in the near future. In addition, My Youth has been invited to appear on Radio France and will feature in Revista Ojo magazine in Venezuela.

‘LOVE IN THE SHADOWS’
OUT JULY 28 ON DIVISION MUSIC

• Debut single from Circuit21, aka Robert Brown
• Former lead singer of Dutch pop sensation BearForce1.
• Over 3 million views on YouTube.
• Huge remixes courtesy of  kings of commercial club remix/production - Cahill

On 28th July 2013, Belfast born and bred Robert Brown aka Circuit21 releases his debut single, a floor-filling electro re-work of the 80’s cult classic ‘Love In The Shadows.’

‘It’s a song that has been seared on to my mental hard-drive from the minute I heard it,’ says Robert. ‘I’ve always loved it, as it’s a lament to losing love, but is still really uplifting.’

Since its first release back in 1986 by E.G Daily, ‘Love In The Shadows’ has become a much loved classic, re-recorded by many, including Celine Dion, who released it as ‘Délivre-Moi’ in 1988. Fast forward to 2013 and Circuit21 have added powerhouse vocals, high-energy synths and a driving bass line that manage to maintain the sadness of the original, whilst combining it with a new hands in the air euphoria, that could make it one of this summer’s biggest anthems.

‘I thought it was time someone re-worked it,’ says Robert. ‘I wanted to put my slant on it and bring it to a new generation. I’ve always thought the song had a timeless quality and I think it still has something to say.’

And don’t miss the accompanying video. Set in a futuristic disco where Blade Runner meets Studio 54, its dark, camp and over the top, and has already had an impressive 16,000 views since going live (watch it HERE)

Circuit21 is Robert Brown, an established musician, who’s been performing and working in the industry since the 80s. Having started out with a career in fashion, winning ‘Designer of the Year’ in 1986 and working with labels like Prada and Gucci, Robert started pursuing a career in music, fronting various covers bands. Highlights included touring with Bronski Beat, and recording an electronic version of Shirley Bassey’s ‘Big Spender’ for an indie film ‘Rhythm and Blues,’ alongside Marc Almond.

His biggest success came in 2007, when he auditioned and won the role of lead vocals in the Dutch pop 4-piece BearForce1. As their first single reached over 3 million views on YouTube, Hollywood blogger Perez Hilton called them ‘The Best Thing Ever’ and they quickly became an international pop sensation, gaining notoriety across the globe for their tongue in cheek videos and high energy dance routines. ‘It was a total blast and a total learning curve,’ recalls Robert. ‘We sort of hit the ground running, with 1 million hits in 1 week for the first video alone.  We had to tour quickly, so it was dates around Europe extensively and then the USA.’

Their second single ‘Xmas Is Here’ reached the top 10 in the Dutch Xmas charts, but after releasing the 3rd single ‘Shake That Thing’ they decided to call it quits, with each member wanting to live in separate countries, it became logistically impossible. ‘Most of the guys are now living in different parts of Europe, so we don't speak as often as we'd like, but I know that they're all still shaking their own things, wherever they are!’

After the BearForce1 sensation ended Robert moved back to Belfast and got to work on writing his solo material, and after hooking up with legendary Belfast electronic producer Graeme Laverty at Cloud9 studios, Circuit21 was born.

‘Love in the Shadows’ is the first single taken from the upcoming album, ‘Eventually,’ influenced by everyone from Gary Numan, Kate Bush and David Bowie to Kraftwerk and Mahalia Jackson. ‘Every song is written around the sound of the synths in my head. It was just trying to get that sound matched in the studio that took time.’

‘I’d recommend wearing comfortable shoes, because it takes you on a brisk walk through the 1980's, taking twists and turns, dipping into different musical genres as you go,’ says Robert.  ‘Not just for the sake of it though. It's just how it turned out.  Each song almost morphs into the next, the energy builds as it goes.’

The end result? ‘Very much the sound of something future, winking at the past…’

Circuit21’s debut single, ‘Love in the Shadows’ is out July 28, the debut album, ‘Eventually’ is due out later this year.

Friday Club are a new band from Birmingham.
They previously worked with Dom Ganderton (PEACE/SUPERFOOD/WIDE EYED/ SWIM DEEP and have played a handful of prestigious gigs including This Feeling, supported Chase & Status, Labrinth and Black Tambourines. Friday Club have been working tirelessly, regularly playing some of UK’s hottest venues; including The Old Blue Last, Sunflower Lounge, Purple Turtle , Friars Court Warrington and will soon be supporting the likes of Jawws at Villa Park (Counteract Magazine Festival).

“…music that seems to encapsulate the meaning of feel good” Counteract Magazine

“…an instant, timeless catchiness to their sound” Hooting and Howling Magazine

The band has proved to be a big hit thus far, exploding onto the B-Town scene. They notched up well over a thousand listens within the first week of launching ‘All I Wanna Do Is’ online purely through band self promotion live.

Their live sound and live recording techniques have meant that Friday Club have gained notoriety from both critics and fans alike. Their live sound has been described as encapsulating the meaning of feel good, their songs have been described as being catchy songs with upbeat rhythms and addictive refrains and they have the ability to win over a crowd within a moment.

Friday Club’s endearing nature and rebellious streak is what stands them aside from many of the other successful Birmingham bands of their time. Despite this they are possibly the hardest working band within the city at the moment, totally self managed and funded, the band owe nothing to anybody.

The band play the following live dates :

May 25th - Hare & Hounds Birmingham (This Feeling)
May 29th - Purple Turtle Camden Town London (Supporting Black Tambourines)
May 31st - Old Blue Last London (Free Entry Show)
June 1st - Love It Kent Party In The Park
June 16th - Villa Park Birmingham - Counteract Magazine Villa Kit Launch Festival

The product of an unsigned songwriter who decided to sell songs direct to the music loving public, Wagstar still remains anonymous due to, in his own words, ‘simply being unable to afford to pay the number of security staff required to hold back lusting fans….’
Despite no one knowing how he appears, Wagstar has still managed to secure BBC radio play as well as exposure on a number of local FM stations too, with more expected to follow.

' On The Rocks'/ lions Gone
It's released on the 10th June 2013 and available to pre order now from iTunes and all good digital retailers. Their debut (self titled) album follows in August 2013.
Led by Ocean Adams, they're a six piece indie/rock band who are stunning audiences all over the UK with their blistering live performance.

Their debut album is full of heartbreak, loss and deceit - as well as hope, real life stories and love. It's an absolute belter of a debut album.
